Daystar Comfort Ride and towing

I am looking at the Daystar Comfort Ride 2.5/1.5 spacer kit. I understand that most do not like towing with a spacer lift because of the spring being preloaded, but with this kit the springs are not. Would this be an okay lift for my 2010 SR5 when I regularly tow a 3000# pop up camper? (tongue weight is <300#). I have been looking at the OME kits, but biting off $800 vs $150 is a big difference when the extent of my offroading is forest service roads. When the stock shocks wear out I would be putting on 5100s as well, but for now just the spacers. I searched and found many threads but none with the information I am requesting.

If there is no preload in the springs as you mentioned then your are essentially just towing with the stock suspension. It should not be an issue at all.

I should also add that I have a spacer kit and I have towed boats, trailers, etc and have had no issues.

This is the kit for the 2010. It seems that a lot of sites do not show the 2010 and 2011 on kits that fit.

Daystar kit is on and truck is aligned. I am happy thus far. Below are some photos during the install. It was super easy, started at 11:00, tightened the last lug at 12:30. Ride is identical to stock. I will probably pull the camper the first time early December and will post how it is towing once I have.

Bolted up (a little hint, don't fight with getting around the sway bar, just unbolt it from the frame and push it out of the way)

Thanks guys! Yes, they are still the 265/70 Geolanders. I was surprised myself, a set of Spidertrax and it would look even better I think.

Big Two Toyota did the alignment without issue. The ride feels the same as stock, minimal difference if at all. I am really happy with it.

On a side note, I hooked my camper up tonight and it seems to be the same as stock, no extra sag back there. I did not pull it anywhere as I did not feel like hooking everything up, but looks to be just fine.

Pulled the front inner fender well in about 1" on the drivers side and the rubbing in reverse is nearly gone. I figure after a few times of backing my camper into sites whatever its rubbing on will rub down enough to keep it quiet. Couldnt take waiting to make use of the increased ground clearance so I crawled over the sand and dirt piles in my inlaws front yard LOL. Really happy with this setup, great for a daily driven vehicle that doesnt need to be fully trail prepped.

Where was it rubbing at? Did you have to use wheel spacers?
