I'm a pretty good hack mechanic 
. I've installed a full suspension on my M3. Twice. I've been collecting Snap-On tools so I have a good set to work with.
Also, my bro-in-law owns a repair shop (3 actually) so I'll probably do it there so I have a lift and all the tools I need. I read the instructions and I figure about 3 or 4 hours should be more than enough. I'm sure I'll be able to do it faster after that.

Did you order from wheelersoffroad, and if so did you ask them if this was made with the new compound of poly? Because Bulldog-yota had a problem with his compressing over time. He got new ones from Daystar tho with the "new", harder compound. Just seeing if you knew about it. Good luck with the install, and make sure you post pics afterwards!

It's the second to last kit on the page. Performance Parts were $282 shipped and they're out of stock. 4 wheel parts shipped pretty quick and send confirmation and status e-mails including a tracking #. There's a bunch of guys online that said they were pretty good so I ordered from them. I'd definitely recommend them.

How will this affect your XREAS? I haven't been following lift kits but I've heard that lifting the XREAS has adverse affects. I guess thats why NE had the shock relocator kit, but that had problems as well.

I've had my Daystar lift on the XREAS for almost a year now with 16K miles and more trips offroad than I can remember. Some of them are documented in the trip report section. As you will notice Pismo is not a very forgining place on suspensions.sharp4runr said:
The only issues I had was with the front top spacers from Daystar, which didn't seem corret to me. I called them and theys end me replacement set and all is well. Realisticly I would say expect about 2" front and 1.5" rear lift with the Daystar kit. This in combination with 265/70/17 A/T tires will make your offroad experience so much better than stock, while maintaining really good on road dynamics. There are other people running Daystar as well with no issues, with lots of on raod and offraod miles.
People running Revtek kits are equally happy and as yet have to see an issue with their XREAS.
DOnt let one yoket company NE spoil it for more solid manufacturers of lift kits.

Anyway, I just got home from installing the lift at my bro-in-law's shop. I forgot my camera so I don't have any pics of the install but what a PITA!!! It ended up taking about 5 hrs because the front XREAS crap was in the way and the spring compressor I used was pretty crappy. I had to use hand tools to compress the springs. I couldn't get any air tool on it. I couldn't use the regular shop mounted spring compressor.
The fronts were definitely a bitch. You have to loosen all the cable and wire guides or you'll pull and possibly rip something out. There were about 4 guides on each side, including the one for the XREAS line. I ended up cutting the lower bushing on top (spring pad?) to add maybe 1/4" more in the front. I think that might've made it harder to re-install the strut. And they don't compress at all. I had a 5' pipe to try to "help" out but that didn't work. The Daystar kit is very nice. I had no problems with the quality of the product. Everything fit perfectly and no major or minor mods needed to any of the parts.
The rears took about 45 mins though. You have to take off the swaybar links and the panhard bar as well as the lower shock mount.
I'll try to take some pics in the next couple of days but it looks pretty good. I'll probably get an alignment this weekend. Oh, and I got to rotate my tires. I didn't swap out the spare because I'm trying to burn up these tires so I have an excuse to get some Revos (yes, I'm leaning toward Revos now).

Post some pics. I have no idea what you are talking about in terms of bushing.

Bulldog - Here you can kinda see what I'm talking about. There's 2 pieces for the front that sandwiches the top strut plate. There's a bushing below the strut plate that is supposed to be replaced with the provided Daystar bushing. I had to cut the inner rubber sleeve so both would fit.
