Daystar, Toytec BL, 285/70/17 NTG, Spidertrax on Stock 17" Sport wheels = RUB BODYMNT

So I just did the Daystar lift with a Toytec bodylift. Trimmed the bumper and fender... Got some 285/70/17 NTG's on my stock 17" wheels with spidertrax spacers on... Drove home and it was good... no rubbing.... a few days later, I went to get an alignment... End result was 0 camber, 3° caster, .4° toe on both sides...

Now I am rubbing like hell... I came back home, shaved even more of the fender... My driver side is literally touching the bodymount when I turn the steering wheel all the way left... The right side touches the bodymount as well when I am making a turn into the driveway.

what is with everyone being an ******* on here lately? yes, maybe he didn't plan well, and what you say is true, but why kick him when he is down? why take it personal? he is looking for help/advice.

I don't have an answer for you other than go back to the drawing board, or get a bigger lift, or smaller tires. maybe some of the other kinder posters will have a solution for you.

To the OP: I don't know exactly which body mount you are talking about and it's too cold to go outside and look on my truck, but if it's anything like the FJ's, then maybe you could take a look at page 13 on this: http://www.roughcountry.com/install/770S.pdf

Again, this could be completely different from what you are talking about, but maybe it'll give you some ideas.

How much suspension and how much body and how much spacers? That will all determine whether you keep rubbing or not. I started out with 2.5 Daystar suspension and had to stay with stock size tires, kept trimming and trimming, then eventually did a 1.5 4crawler body lift for a total of 4" lift. Still rubbing even with the stock tires a little on back side of driver side fender as well as on the front of my rock sliders. I moved the sliders back .5 inch and kept trimming the fender until it rubs no more. I hope that I will be able to go up to 285's with my next set of tires.

Good luck and try not to get too frustrated, you'll eventually get there.

My brother has a 3/2 with a 1.5" body lift and rubs with 285's on it just barely... live with it. It's not hurting the tires... not even a sharp piece of metal. Without a plasma torch there's not much you're going to do with it.

you could consider chopping the body mount a little if the rubbing is too annoying for ya. Most people have done that here. Pictures??

yeah I will look into chopping it a little bit. I have pics with my BB but it's horrible...
