Daytime Running Lights

My 05 SR5 4 Runner did not come with daytime running lights. You would think for $30,000 it would be stadnard. Has anyone wired there Runner for Daytime Running lights?

they said mine came with them (04) but it doesnt have the auto like some others do.. so i left them on to try and they turned of by themselves...also when you lock the truck with the lights on they turn off if you hit the lock button on the keyless 2x

I think You are talking about auto headlights.....
I do the same thing, usually at night to have some light untill I get to my house..

However, you have daytime running lights ( DRL) installed, when your front turning lights stay on all the time....

Auto on headlights are only available on the Limited. The SR5 and Sport don't have auto on headlights even if they have DRL's. On the other hand, all 4Runners have the auto off headlights. DRL's have nothing to do with the auto on lights. Look on the dash by the drivers side and you will see two sensors. One of them is for the climate control and one is for the automatic headlights. On the SR5 and Sport, there is only a plastic insert. On the Limited, there is a sensor there.

Ghetto solution

Since the headlights will automatically turn off if you aciddentally leave them on, why not just leave them on all the time if you want DRL? Your batteries will never go dead and your headlights will always be on.

Me personally, I like my lights off unless it's dark outside.

This is exactly what I do. I figure it makes me more visible and possibley less likely to get into an accident. If I have to replace a bulb earlier, its considered cheap insuarance....
