ok so i know there has been alot of input already regarding the HIDs in general but i feel not much about the ones from DDM.
So first off im gonna say that DDM kits are great and from wat i have read from many sources the slims actually take LONGER to start up compared to the larger ones due to their size (5-7sec vs 10-15sec to fully illumination). The only real benefit of the slim is that it is digital so less likely to malfunction over time and the fact that they are thinner for smaller cars that have less engine compartment space.
As for the wattage... i wouldnt suggest getting a 55w kit unless u plan to have projectors and even then i dont think id suggest it. I think it is great in a offroad light retrofit but not in headlights.
I have had experience with the 35w hi/lo 5000w kit and it was great but very bright. i can tell u that i did not get flashed very often if at all but with that being said i could definitely tell they were pretty bright and that if they were any brighter id jut be asking for trouble. They are a significant increase over stock bulbs and silverstars but i did notice that the light is not as bright as it should be due to the bouncing headlight beam pattern. *Note: I did re-aim them properly*
I did not do a full projector retrofit like GottabeTRD did but i did some almost pnp projectors that work great and are much better on the output and help to cut off the light pattern and i also love the added feature of the halo/angel eyes. U can pick up a kit like this for around 100-150 on ebay.

I have 2 HID kits, both 6000K 35w, headlights are a cheap $30 Ebay kit but the off road lights are the DDM kit (slim ballasts). I had to retrofit the cheap Advance Auto lights to fit the H1 bulbs (even though that's what they came with) well worth it.
Driver's is the halogen H1/Passenger DDM (lenses are blue)

I am not happy at all with my DDM HIDs - my passenger side headlight has melted all the plastic where you screw in the bulb ( have it duct taped so it will stay in) and my drivers side bulb will turn on sometimes and not turn on sometimes. Very frustrating, I am going to rip them out and throw the whole kit away as soon as I can afford to grab a kit from another company. If I had 2 more hands I would give the DDM HIDs 4 thumbs down.

Im happy with my DDM hids, I had one of my slim ballasts burn out and they took care of it. Had a new one in 2 weeks .
As far as swaping them from your summer car to your other vehicle , thats just asking for trouble. They are $40 buy a set for each vehicle or just leave them in one.

I'm really surprised to hear anything positive about the DDM kits. I just got them and the instructions tell me to insert bare terminals into the old light sockets? WTF?? No way would I do that, it wouldn't stay in place and it's not sealed at all. No idea why they would send them this way instead of just putting on a receptacle for the bulb socket.
I got the H11 kit, and the bulb size was not to spec, it wouldn't go in. I forced it just a tiny bit and the cheap plastic edges on the bulb snapped right off.
And the strain relief going into the box clearly wasn't doing anything. You could move the cable in/out a few mm easily. This could lead to failure over time. Mine came direct from a factory in China, and I have enough experience with manufacturing in China to recognize when something is made as cheaply as possible with little to no quality control. I just hope I can get my money back.

Why dont you just call them, i have had a few friends with problem kits and they have always made it right.
Im not to happy with ddm as well, my left head light consistently shuts off, i have to turn my head lights off then back on then will turn back on, I have checked all the connections and everything is secure, i hate it ppl think I'm flashing them but I'm really not 
and I've already sent this kit back once and i don't feel like shipping it back again, if i ship it back again i will have paid enough shipping to have bought me another kit! i like the coverage of the lights and the brightness but they aren't reliable! plus whenever you call in to tech support you wait on hold for 20-30min its horrible.
