DDM Tuning Saber LED for DRL / High

A totally different animal from what's being shown and discussed in this thread.... I have something similar to what you got on Amazon in my fogs. Not even close to the same type of product.

Good.... But not a HID / LED Good.

I understand completely but hard to beat for $25. I almost ordered the DRLs from Diode Dynamics with my HID headlight replacements but the ones I wanted there were $120 and after spending $40K on a truck and another $2K on mods (wheels, lighting, etc. ) I was getting the stink eye. And I'm trying to get my post count up enough to say hello...

I've been debating LED high beams but haven't made the jump yet as i still feel HIDs are the way to go still...

Opinion:
HID's are not the way to go for High Beams as the do not fire quick enough.

[MENTION=118423]555R[/MENTION] [MENTION=103267]Saker[/MENTION] is correct - don't do that. HIDs are not appropriate replacements in a discreet high beam headlight. A bi-xenon fixture in the low beam side however, is tits.

As I may have mentioned before, I'm somewhat informed on LED for professional use (SAR).

I have to say the sheer lumens that come out of these two diode LED Saber kits is mind blowing.... Unlike anything I've seen even on a 50" bar.... Heck they might even be comparable to that light output!

No doubt the DDM kit is something you have to see with our own eyes to truly understand just how BIG of an upgrade this is to your high beams.

The instant on of a LED, the increased "hey look at me" of the DRL (remember that is the purpose of a DRL) and the paint melting distance and intensity in your high beam makes this a must have mod for only $74.95

Oh ya, just to mention I don't work for DDM.... But like to support business and products that are quality and perform as described.

i rarely if ever use the high beams to flash people anyway.
i don't think there is a high/low for our 2015 trail projectors.
i only use high beams on dark roads and to make sure no deer are coming my way.
i know LEDs are getting better however and i have the TRS LED fog lights which are badass...i will figure it out eventually
my current TRS low and fog setup makes my standard hi beams look like they are reddish colored but its even rare i use them

Hey, beautiful car. New to the forum and just recently got my first new 2016 4runner. I'm thinking of working on my car in the long run. Those LEDs on your grill look really cool. Are those just an extension of your head lights? Or are they for your high beams and are they legal? Really cool and want to do this on my truck in the future so I'm trying to gather as much info as possible. Thanks!!!

There is no high/low on our 2014+ T4R projectors, this is correct.
I too have the Morimoto XB LED Fog lights installed on my T4R. Good stuff.
I think you will be blown away at how much light output these DDM TUNING SABER LED's throw. They are 3000lm each, that's 6000lm total.
If there are deer on the roadside, these will light them up!
And when you hit the high beam switch, they are instant on....at the correct color. (You will enjoy using them, and they will be white not the color you describe)
I can tell you, I'm pretty particular when it comes to lighting on my vehicles, and these check ALL the boxes.
I have a 22" LED Light Bar and they throw almost as much light as it does, no exaggeration!

Color is right on with my Morimoto HID's from TRS as well.
I had Bi-Xenon's in my Taco, and these would have blown them away sided-by-side.
I don't think you will be able to out perform DDM TUNING SABER LED's even with HID Projector retrofit in your high beam side.

I have no affiliation with DDM TUNING, just know a great product when I find one and don't mind telling about it.

Orderd my kit from DDM yesterday. Has anyone done any kind of write up on the install? I've never done this type of upgrade, and I'm just looking for tips on mounting the ballast, etc.

Keep doing your research all of your questions have been answered on this board

I wouldn't run the Sabers in your low beam, for various reasons... You will learn the diff as you research about light projection and design of a projector vs. reflector housing ect...

I think the general consensus has found HID's in our projectors is just about the best you can do... Some will argue our projectors are not designed for HID, but most do it and are happy with the results.

Saber LED for the highs as this thread describes is amazing.

Fogs- HID or LED, I find the fogs really don't toss that much light to begin with. As again they are designed with a specific function and reflector to do such.
