DDM Tuning Saber LED for DRL / High

Has anyone tried these yet? Any feedback... trying to decide between these and the DDM Tuning. I was told the XD do not flicker in DRL setting with CANbus.

I'm pretty sure the Xeon guy was pushing a hard sell on these a few pages back... Can't exactly recall what came of it I'd need to go back a reread unless these are something else and new to the market?

Curious about these.... No one has tried them because they are not available yet. Almost twice the cost of DDM. Still curious to see them when they release.

May pull the trigger and be the guinea pig and see how these work out.

Just a heads up,... the shipping cost is confirmed, almost $20 for up to 7-10 days to be delivered. That is rediculous.

Like I said earlier, if it wasnt for the good reviews I would have NEVER ordered these because of the added expense to get to me.

Not to argue, did you call them? Not exactly sure where "Lame City AZ" is located but look at the DDM site it's only $13 bucks to Phoenix AZ.

I know you aren't arguing,... and I appreciate that you are being helpful. I did take your advice and contacted them in regards to the shipping and opened a ticket with them. They replied this morning and said it was coming from China ... so that's what happens when you deal with the chinese.

My zip code is 85374 and the shipping goes up $5 from the screen capture you posted.

Also, they give you a bogus tracking number... it even says the tracking number cant be tracked.

I see that the product is good from everyone's reviews but I just wanted to give a heads up to check your shipping cost because its a whole lot more expensive than I originally thought.

I was told by DDM in Cali, if you call them directly and place an order, they ship directly from there.
If you use the online ordering, the orders are fulfilled in China, that is why they take so long to receive.

I think my shipping was included, but paid more than the current price + shipping.
You more than likely could have saved time and money by doing what I posted earlier.....

I think that's a Chinese tracking number!

Just got done installing my new DRL sabers and they look great!

What is everyone doing for low beams? I don't know if I want to drill a hole in the projector housing lid, for moister and dirt. Unless anyone has had any experience?

The seals provided in the Xenon Depot HID are fantastic.

Others have had seemingly equally excellent experiences with TRS kits.

YMMV.

I've been very happy with my XD HID's (philips bulbs) for lows. No regrets about having to drill the dust cover, either. The seals seem well made (along with the rest of the kit), and I don't have any particular reservations about using them, even in inclement weather.

I would be interested to see how the XD LED's work out. The output is a little lower than the morimoto's/DDMs (going with the rated lumen count and a huge grain of salt), but not having to deal with flickering would be worth swapping to them...

I didnt read through this entire thread. I use to run ddm HIDs on my 2006 4runner. after about 7 or 8 sets, I finally realized you get what you pay for. DDM tuning offers low quailty , low quality control products. Simply put they are crap. It would be wise to invest in a better product.

So I installed these because I liked your post, problem is I did this before I began buying accessory lights. Now that I have some on the rig, I realized unless I get like a 50" Rigid or something these lights are brighter than everything out there. Seriously though, never been happier with a mod, these lights just catapult light everywhere in front of the rig. Saved me quite a few times with wildlife (damn country roads)

I will post some photos in the upcoming week of mine, but you are correct they throw a ton of light and unless you are buying a Rigid LED or BajaDesign HIDs which are SUPER expensive you wont get more light out of the chinese LED lightbars.

I have to agree with you.... if you notice in my sig I have a LED company listed... and it's not DDM... maybe it should be.... or maybe I should add them... I don't work for either but as I've said before I like to support products and companies who I can get behind.

All that said, I saw one post above about someone "hating" on DDM... not sure how to respond, but I can say this. If your burning through that many kits.... the issue most likely is not the kit. Sounds like you have a short someplace ( I'm not an electrical engineer) but can figure that out.

I ran through 13 fuses on a LED bar before I opened it up and found that durning assembly someone carelessly burned through the insulation on the hot with the soldering iron causing a short in the bar.... did I bash the vendor? No. could I have? Of course.

But I choose to work with that company, and help them improve the product.

Sorry for the rant. Back to hating myself.

I'm totally with you, it's amazing how fast this LED technology is advancing. A combined 4 LED diaods that toss as much or more lumen's as a 50" bar is mind blowing!

Makes you realize what the next gen bars are going to produce...

Thanks for everyones feedback on these - my set is arriving this afternoon can't wait to install them and 'see the light'!

It was really between this and brand Xs product. Seeing as how noone can get the flicker issue dialed in as it's just how the Toyota system operates, it didn't make sense to me to pay double what these are and have less output during high beam operation (going by listed lumens anyway).

I did have plans for the usual arrangements of light bars etc but with these hopefully I can scale that back a bit as I do enjoy a more understated look, but having the benefits of hitting the highbeams offroad will be more than sufficient for any trails I decide to tackle past sundown.
