You wil like the Morimoto kit from TRS. I have them. A well built kit. A big plus for me is their customer service. I've had an issue with one of the relay, though minor, and they sent out replacement the next day. TRS guys are legit, any problem in the future, just ask for Andrew and he'll sort it all out. I love the output of the 4100K on our stock projectors. Maybe I'll add the 3K to the fogs one day.
 
so now you finally figure it all out about ddm, i have said they give mismatch bulbs, the bulbs are cheaper. matt at trs do have better stuff, im using all there ballast and projectors. so why dont you decide to do a retrofit? im pretty sure the ddm bulb flaked off all the chrome in the headlight bowl, bad uv protection does that.

I would do a retrofit but im a bit nervous to do so, and i was gonna save the money from selling some stuff and put it toward a lift but the flickering started today on my way home and i just dont wanna deal with DDM anymore
 
nope, but you can add that with oem headlight adjuster from celica or tundra, but thats what i read and seen on hidplanet. i think they talked about a auto leveling system that was like 500 bucks or more.
 
The guys that are having problems with DDM, are you using it in your factory projectors or pre-projector lamps? Curious..
 
DDM used to be a good company, I don't know what happened to make their customer service so terrible over the years. That being said, did you notice your bulbs from TRS being "less bright" as compared to the DDM ones? My 35W from TRS seem to light up a significant amount less than the 35W I bought from DDM.
 
I've run Morimoto stuff and I can't complain. Good stuff. I've seen nothing but complaints on DDM on this other other forums. I have no experience with DDM, nor will I ever.

I love my morimoto kit, I will never buy a cheap HID kit again, morimoto is great quality and I couldn't be happier with them
 
I have both on my truck right now (Mini H1 Morimoto retrofit in lows and DDM kit in fogs) and I must be one of the fortunate ones that hasn't had any issues with either. My buddy who owns a Taco has had numerous issues with his DDM kit and I'm trying to convince him to go with a retrofit from TRS. I will say I had a slight issue yesterday after I did the headlight black out, put everthing back together and went to turn the lights on but they never came on. Just turned out to be a loose connection. Here's a pic of my blacked out headlights, sucky iPhone pic but you get the gist. The one thing I MUST do now is clean the headlights with some sort of kit to remove the hazing and yellowing from years of use. Now that I blacked them out it's much more noticable. Love my Morimoto kit.

Are problems with DDM kit (such as over heating, melting etc.) observed when they are installed in non-projector housings? Not sure what year T4R started coming with factory projectors, looking to get opinions from those with DDM in factory projectors.

Factory projectors started on '06 - '09 models. I highly recommend a retrofit kit if you have '03 - '05 lights. Ask riceandpho if you have any questions, he's a genius when it comes to retrofits.
 
Not a guiness, just a light guy, if the trs kit looks dimmer than the ddm, the ddm might have biurned off the reflector in the housing, the only way to tell is by taking the lights apart, at the same time u can do the black headlight mod, also a retrofit. Even the morimoto mini d2s quick retro kit is a big step up from stock, but if u want better more work is needed. Like rx projectors i put needs alot of work and paitience, my very first true retro and i spend over 12 hours and few hundreds dollars. The morimoto quick takes about 5 hours to complete.
 
TRS is right here in Atlanta, stopped in and picked up some stuff from them not too long ago. I can vouch for them. They're awesome guys and have awesome customer service. I'm happy so far with my stuff and will get more from them in the future..

Why bother with the relay? The 35W HIDs draw less amperage than the stock 55W H11s. I left off the relay on my DDM tuning HID order and working great for 6 months now.
