alright got the filters today. Came in a toyota/lexus box. filters are individually boxed in the red toyota boxes. each box has the toyota holographic sticker. came with the element, tool to release the oil before removal, and o ring/s? (didnt count) If you guys have any ideas on how to tell if theyre counterfeit, let me know.

Toyota Counterfeit parts EXPOSED! - YouTube shows how to check for a counterfeit filter. Fast forward to the following times:

15:25-15:50 Counterfeit hologram is dull and not reflective. Iridescent details are missing when the box is moved under direct lighting.

15:55-16:00 Counterfeit filter has "Made in Japan" printed on the box. Genuine filters are made in Thailand.

20:00-20:25 Counterfeit filter is easily squeezed in the hand, which indicates filter material is thinner and the end seals are soft and flexible.

Other tests for a counterfeit require side-by-side comparison with a genuine oil filter and box.

So the filters check all the boxes that he said to look for. i went to parts.toyota.com to cross reference part numbers and they match.

my biggest thing is the filter is nice and stiff, nothing spongy like in his video.

BAMW has a Toyota Parts Catalog with wholesale prices that are competitive with Camelback Toyota (which is close to me). I searched for the nearest Toyota dealer and found Brunswick Toyota Auto Mart (BTAM) 1.2 miles away. Photos of BTAM on Google shows a small building that has no room for storing parts. I think BAMW delivers genuine Toyota parts to the BTAM service center and also sells parts on Amazon.

So, why did BAMW sell 10 genuine oil filters for 90 cents each with free shipping? I don't know. Perhaps somebody made an error in the listing.

Mine came in tonight. Look legit to me. Holograms, made in Taiwan, black Toyota script inside the filter etc.

Need to get one from my dealer to compare but I expect I'll keep them they look correct to me.

Just got the 2 case order of yzza5 filters & compared to an oil filter from dealer exact same as the dealer(Holograms, filter, seals, box and filter drain) every thing identical. Great deal must have been a mistake on amazon that was why the price went up so quick. I wish that i bought more I thought i would have to toss them but now I’m glad that i bought them.

I am glad it is working out so far for everyone. Mine still haven't shipped (not sure how that works since I got mine ordered before I even posted this).

Amazon does this all the time. Cheap stuff floats around. I just happened to be looking at the time. Why I shared it.

The highest discounts on automotive related stuff are Amazon Prime items, 50-64% on off brands I would not buy. Your discount was 80% on genuine Toyota oil filters with free shipping. We can all hope you will find more deals like that and post them here.

Just like "thinkviv" said. The deal is still available, though from a different seller, 166 Auto Inc. I purchased on the 11th from that seller and supposedly getting delivered today. I still have some genuine filters I got from a dealer a while ago and going to compare once these cheaper ones come in. If they end up fakes. I can just easily return them to Amazon. interested to see your thoughts. I'm not due for an oil change until jan/feb depending on if we drive the toyota on road trips or the Ferd. So the box of filters is prolly gonna get lost in the garage lol
