How about just rear shocks. You can probably get some OEM for close to free from someone who took them off to do a lift. Same for the front.
would be curious to know what 4x4 service includes. a simple transfer case fluid change is easy to do and only about 1 quart of fluid that is $10-$15

Even the cheapest item on there - wiper blades. I just got an email from Toyota for $18 wiper blades. Those suspension prices are comparable to high end aftermarket kits.
Those front hood struts and rear hatch struts can be pricey! Hahaha Are those TRD or X-REAS pricing?
My timing cover has a small oil weep. Maybe an ounce every 6 months since I typically park facing downhill. It’s an unpressurized area with oil splashing around. Dealer quoted $4800 and when I laughed they said $4200. A local Toyota specialist quoted me $2100. It’s a fairly intrusive job when you look into it.

Mine seeps too but no drips and doesnt lose any oil. Just looked horrible when I bought it bevause it must have been going on for a while and never cleaned. I acted concerned and used it to grind the dealer on the price. I would only say "leakage" and they would only say "seepage" haha. It's a common thing and like you said not pressurized. I'll take care of it myself one day when I have the time and patience and probably replace the chain and whatever other PM I can do in there.
The other stuff... diff fluid changes, plugs, shocks is easy.

I just got a bunch of Valvoline from Menards on sale for $8 a quart I think it was. I do a "4x4 service" every spring for well under $100. It needs 7 quarts and $6 of OE crush washers.
I just did an engine oil change for $25. Kirkland (Costco) full synthetic 0W-20 at $30 for 10 quarts and $5 for a filter kit.

I had some oil spots on the driveway. Thought it was coming off the crank case, but... Well you can see what he says.
As for the struts, There does look like a little leakage in the front driver, but it looks old tbh. Definitely not worth replacing just to replace. His justification bc of the line was hilarious.
Correct me if I'm wrong: for the timing cover replacement, they're taking off most of the top of the engine. $400 for spark plugs?! When they're pulling it off anyway? [emoji38]
I normally change my oil. Used to have dealer do it when they had the $39.99 special. It wasn't worth me doing it. Just always laughed off whatever 'problems' they found and left. This just happened to be by necessity and lack of time. Surely they just are late to the April Fool's joke?
As for the 4x4 service: i have everything I need to do it. Will be enjoying doing it myself this weekend along with a few cold ones. Does anyone actually change the fluid on those every 30k miles?
