Dealer 'Stealer' - Way overpriced!

Browsing a local dealers site I came across a stripped out SR5 for $36,200!!! The only options I can find is the cross bars, it does not even have floor mats! Toyota's site has that one priced out at $33,630. WTF is that dealer thinking?!?! No bluetooth on the wheel, cloth seats, no power outlets, etc. I feel sorry for the poor idiot who will walk in, get 3k off, and think he got a 'great deal'. I really hope people do their research before going to the lots!

Are you sure that it doesn't have any of those things? All my local dealers have nothing listed as options but the sport cloth, bluetooth stereo, and moonroof are "standard" in my area. They are all listed at $34,XXX (local base), $36,XXX (premium), or $40,XXX (limited) here.

Either way, the Mulroney sticker can't be altered other than hand writing "paint protection, pinstripe, etc" on them. The actual MSRP will still be listed on the car.

I'm sure They have all the photos of the 4R at their dealership, showing interior and exterior. It caught my attention because ALL of the 4R I have seen w/o leather are 34k around here, and all the ones with leather are 36k-37k (non limited of course). So when I saw this for 36k I figured it had leather, once I saw the photos (w/o leather) it peaked my interest on how the price could be so high, then seeing all the other photos missing all the goodies I really started to wonder! Who knows, maybe this one has every TRD option Maybe it has the new super secret V8! :thumb3:

Its funny how dealerships can vary so much from one another. The dealership that I bought my SR5 from has had four 4Runners on their lot since December. They don't stick around too long. My home town dealer (I used a dealer 40 miles away) has had two T4R's on the lot over the same time frame. Neither have moved. They just don't want to move off of sticker or work with trade ins. They said they did sell one SR5, but they had to sell it pretty quickly, as I never saw it on the lot which I drive by pretty regularly. If they don't mind their inventory hanging around for a while, more power to them.

Even my SR5 with leather, bluetooth on the wheel, floor mats, cargo mat, crossbars, moonroof, "premium package" was less than that! I got it for less than $34K and only financed $24K Hopefully no one will get screwed over.

I didn't think you could get leather in an SR5 unless dealer installed??

I had to have the black cloth removed and leather added by the dealer.

Can you really get an SR5 from the factory with leather??

YES! It is an option from the factory, you can see it on the 'options' page when you build it on Toyota's site.

"Premium package w/ leather with Additional Options"

"(PT) Premium Package: leather-trimmed and heated 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat with power lumbar support and 4-way power-adjustable passenger seat, leather-trimmed second row, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and courtesy lamps"

I believe it is a new 'option' on the SR5 model for 2010. To my knowledge you had to get the limited to get leather from the factory or have it installed aftermarket in an SR5 anything before 2010.

Thanks, I see it now. Looks like can only get black leather with Silver exterior. Too late now, I got dealer installed grey leather to match the console and doors. Looks like the only thing I missed out on was the leather wrap steering wheel and shifter. It cost me $2100 for heated leather seats which is about $500 more that dealer option it appears....and the heated part is just low and high, not variable like from factory. But I do like the lighter color so I don't think I would have done anything different.

I have a blizzard pearl SR5 on order w/ black leather. The door, armrest, and dash is still grey on the SR5, though, instead of black like the Limited.
