No way..Same here lunch at Barker it must have been about 1230-100 then to mengal and then cabins then turned back going back thru mengal then past the ranch and camped in Goler Wash.

That would have been a trip to bump into you guys.

the only people we seen enter Goler Wash was the next morning as we headed out just as we started dropping down the second set of rocks there was a truck and a couple jeeps removing their sway bars to get up the rocks, but not before seeing me go too much passenger and not soon enough back driver smacking me down with a thud on my gas tank skid, they got to see what not to do, lol.

So did you guys have a good time? what did you think of Goler and Mengal? how did warm springs look? were you able to get out to the roads that way or did you have to back track out another way?

Weekend was great Such great weather.

We had a pretty experienced guy with us. After going up the steps into Goler he said he'd never seen it that difficult before and thought it was probably the hardest spot in DV now. I dented my gas tank skid on the biggest step. Not bad though. Mengal was ok going up, but when going down the other side we weren't too sure how trying to go back up that way might be The random rockiness and steepness would have meant a lot of tire spinning and thumping around off skid plates at least.

We were thinking of camping at the talc mine, but because of the closed roads situation and the fact that we wanted to be at eureka dunes by noon on sat we decided to try to get to Furnace Creek to camp and that was a bit of a trip.

We knew West side was closed and Badwater going north, but we figured the mile or so of west side we could squeak through and head out of the park at the south then around to the east and into Furnace Creek on the open highway. But it turns out that even the south way out was closed so we were like trapped

It was getting dark so we just decided to take our chances going out Jubilee Pass Road (One of three closed roads we had to choose from) thinking for some reason that it might be the most passible. But that road was really destroyed. I don't know how long it'll take to fix it. Nothing we couldn't get through easily, but the destruction was impressive, post-apocalyptic, especially in the dark

We camped at Furnace Creek, then headed up to eureka dunes on Sat. and ran into another closed road that wasn't on the closed road list on line or at the information center! Arg So... we went around that sign too. It was washed out in 50 places but... nothing a truck couldn't get through even in 2wd...

Got to the dunes, had lunch, then went through Dedeckra Canyon (Much like Goler) and then 20 miles of rocks (about 2.5 hours) through steel pass to the saline valley hot springs.

Then Sunday went out North Pass (Also closed, but you wouldn't know it unless you came IN that way)
