Tires and wheels ordered. I went with 255/80R17 KM2 on the level 8 MK6 17x8 -10.

I run the 255s on the '85 in my avatar. Love 'em. They're superior to wider tires everywhere except deep mud or deep snow. You get a little more height than 285s, with less rotational inertia, less unsprung weight, and less wind resistance. I think unless you're regularly mud bogging or snow wheeling, they're perfect. You might feel the need to regear though?
