i live in SD cali. i had my cap on and did smog and passed. maybe he didn't notice? but likely if he sees it, he may fail it. not sure. if you do the isr mod, keep the silencer, he will fail it without that.

Could you give me the details on the ISR? Haven't looked into it much yet...

I'm so glad I don't live in California!! You guys are just crazy about your smog testing...with everything having to be factory. I'd have to move...I like modifying my vehicles too much.

It's sad...California has all these smog rules, trying to cut down on smog and save the planet by forcing manufactures to install tons of emission equipment on vehicles. But it doesn't work...actually, it's doing the opposite.

With all the mandatory emission equipment and the tune that has to be run to pass emissions...causes the vehicle to get worst fuel economy...burning more fuel...which is more $$$ out of my pocket. I have an 06' diesel truck with no emissions on it (the EGR has been removed) and gets 18-24 mpg...brother-in-law just bought a 13' diesel truck and gets 9-11 mpg...and he has to buy diesel exhaust fluid on top of that!! How is this good for the plant??

Also, since emission equipment is so expensive...it raises the price of new vehicles to the point...most folks can't afford or don't want a new "efficient" and "clean" vehicle. Therefore, people would rather drive older more polluting vehicles...that get worst fuel mileage. Once again...how is this good for our plant?

And for some stupid reason...whatever Cailifornia does...the Federal Government's EPA wants to emulate!! One of the biggest reason the Government offered the "cash for clunkers". Every vehicle that was bought under this program...had to have stuff poured into the engine and then ran at WOT until the engine seized...then the vehicle had to be crushed...so no parts could be used to keep other like vehicles on the road.

Hey, apologizes to the OP! Didn't mean to Hi-Jack your posting...I'll get off my soap box...and quit ranting!! But, I do truly empathize with yall having to deal with this.

Happy trails guys
