It is a plastic grommet with threaded cap for removal. You can buy one at a boating supply store. Basically it is a access cap used on boats. Mine was 10 bucks.

It's basically just a hole in the airbox but with the deckplate in place you can cap it if you are doing water crossings .
A bit more air adds a 7-8whp increase but it's not like you'd notice it but it's so cheap and easy to do it was worth $12.

Mine was $5.95. I don't reckon it did much but it sure sounds better when you tromp on it.

When I did my deck plate I was not sure about the H.P. increase, however my motor seemed to have more spunk, and the throaty sound AA++

i dont know how many times we've been over this, but i think its time i go ahead and do it, can some one please as much as i hate to ask, post the link to the thread (or just explain) on how to do the deckplate mod.

Sure! 1: remove air box(where your air filter is 1 band 3 bolts). 2: cut hole. 3: Install deck plate (make sure step 2 is large enough). 4: reverse step 1 good luck!

It's also wise to seal the plate with a sensor safe sealer or make-a-gasket material and I added a screen to keep large debris off of the filter and collecting in the box.

Hope not!

You will notice more power if you do remove the fuses, there are only two though so it's not that much of a hassle.
