Deckplate mod completed

Well I just did the deckplate mod I installed a 5" deckplate I cleaned the MAF again, replaced the fuel filter, changed the oil and cleaned the throttlebody & intake. put a tank of gas through it & noticed 22mpg compared to my average 17. I am very happy with the results, I drove it pretty agressively too

I think the cleaning of the MAF,throttle body and replacing the fuel filter helped that increase more than the deckplate did. Was this city or highway?

My hwy is about 21 with my city at 17 with a deckplate and I do like to accelerate. I do have the bigger heavier tires which doesn't help.

What did you use to clean your throttle body? and what is a MAF and how do you clean it

Any idea why they choose to use non-plarinum spark plugs? I also noticed that now there is iridium spark plugs..... reccomendations
 
USE OE plugs
the regular dual ground electrode copper plugs, irridiums & platinums have been know to throw codes regarding a misfire
 
Platinum is good for longevity but it isn't the best conductor for electricity and they definetly didn't work on my turboed Eclipse.
