It's a bit noisier at WOT since it's now open and some might find it annoying but being around and driving loud cars most of my life it's not bad to me.
I agree with Ron here, the sound is a little bit louder, but ONLY when you hammer the gas. I think it sounds beautiful, and it made me reconsider buying a performance exhaust, if only for the sound that they make. But for normal driving, there's really not much of a difference.
ok thats what im looking for a nice hum. also is that a 2nd air box? the smaller one next to the big one? someone asked me about it and i just told them it was for when the ect power was on, it would take more through there?
I think you're looking at one of the 3 silencer boxes. Here's a picture of my engine without them. I removed them and bumped my horsies a little in doing so. It's simply a little box that helps quiet the air intake stream, as well as the exhaust tone in doing so. By removing them, I gave the air intake a less turbulent pathway, subsequently improving horsepower; the same way a cold air intake works.
Well, good luck man. It's not a hard modification to do. With the combination of removing the silencers, replacing the air filter with a high-performance one, and adding the deckplate, you should be pretty happy with the performance gains.
