Deckplate Mod.?

I am going to attempt the deckplate modification on the airbox and am wondering how many cover the deckplate opening with screen material?
Also, for the Intake Silencer removal does anyone have the specific dimensions for the replacement pipe. What type of material is used? Surely white PVC pipe can't look very good.

I didn't cover mine. There's no real reason to if you are running a TrueFlow in there. I might add, with the TrueFlow and the deckplate, your engine cabin sounds ALOT beefier. ALOT better.

I use a piece of screendoor material inside the opening of the deckplate to keep out large debris and small rodents.

what I did, was cut out a square that is roughly the same size as the hole.

Place the screen over the hole, then force the deckplate into the hole. Once in place, I trimmed the excess screen with a razor.

I just used a hose clamp on the inside part of the DP to hold the screen.
You also should use some sensor safe sealant around the deckplate if you didn't already.

So what is the consensus on the size of the deck plate, 4in, 6in, or another size?
