Deepest snow??

What is the Deepest snow you ever drove threw?? And did you get stuck??

Many Years ago a friend of mine and I went out to get stuck for fun after a large snowfall I had a Jeep Grand Cheorkee at the time with a new set of snow tires and I got stuck in some 3 ft plus. drifts. I high centered the truck on some compacted snow.

We did get out I brought some shovels....that part was not so fun.

I think thats the fun part. I would go driving in fields and ditches so see how deep i could go before getting stuck and then if i did. I would call my grampa and he would bring the tractor. On a farm of course.

The deepest snow I ever "tried" to drive through was about 21 inches in a 1980 Dodge Aires station wagon and yes, I got stuck. It was a company car and we used it as a plow to go as far as we could before getting stuck, backed up, shoveled away the big pile of snow in front of the car, drove forward until we were stuck again and repeated the process. Took about 6 hours to get out of our street and onto a plowed road.

The deepest snow I ever "drove" through was about 14 inches of nice fluffy stuff and I did it in my '03 4 Runner with stock tires (Michelin X terrains). I was even able to stop in virgin snow on a hill and start up again with no problems.

last winter I got stuck in 4 feet of snow, but the only reason I even tried it was because my friend had his jeep there to pull me out if i got stuck.. and yes, I did get stuck. very stuck.

as we have seen, it clearly depends on the snow. I've driven thru 2ft of light layers of fresh stuff on a mtb bike. Hard and compacted, you can get the runner thru until you start to high center on the underbody.

This past december, I got the baby into a good 30 inches of snow. We were on our way to Snowshoe, WV, and took a wrong turn. The road started out barely dusted with snow, and got deeper and deeper until we were nearly buried in snow. The runner kept going strong, and we kept driving till these 2 HUGE TJ Jeeps with like 33 inch tires started coming the other way. Both the drivers couldnt believe that we had made it as far as we did, and they proceeded to tell us that the road was impassable ahead. We turned around, and took the right route. Needless to say, I now have ZERO doubt as to how much this vehicle can handle rough conditions.

In the blizzard we had last year, I was able to get my 4Runner with Revos through a 2.5 foot snow drift in my driveway. My 2003 Sport had Dunflops, which got stuck in around 2 feet of snow!
