Deer attack victim

morgie

Last thursday I was taking the highway to go in vacation with the little familly. About 30 km later, a deer jumper from behind a road sign and landed about 6 feets in front of my truck. I had no chance to attempt anything before hitting it full-speed (120km/h (~75mph)). The deer bounced off and disapeared as quickly as it appeared.

The damages are quite bad inside out, the radiator fan is jammed into the radiator. But there is not too much sheet metal damages.

I'm still waiting the call from the insurance company deciding they repair or they total it. I hope they repair since the truck is "mint" with a lot of new parts. If they repair, I might go with a shrockworks bumper. Any thoughts about those ?

Here are some pics of the truck.

That sucks. If I had a manual 3rd gen, I would not let the insurance company write it off just cause it would be impossible to replace the vehicle. Good luck with it though.

The shrockworks bumper looks fantastic and from the people that have them the finished fit is great. The one problem that is a repeat complaint on all the portals is that it takes forever to get. I have heard that lead time is 90 days from them but some people waited over 180. I personally want one of those over any other bumper on the market.

OUCH!!!

That was a really nice looking runner too. Hope your insurance company takes care of everything and your runner gets back on the road soon! :driving:

Bummer, thats sucks! Sorry to hear about that. Get a hood scoop hood and shrockworks bumper if your budget allows that, they look really good, hope all works out for ya.

Thanks for the suggestions but the budget is limited for customisation :P and since I have 1 good quarter, one good hood, one good headlight, that TacoCOnversion would be costly :P

I'm still waiting the decision of the insurance company... I'll call tomorrow... it's long !

good news, they'll repair the truck. But the value of the front bumper is not high enought for me to change for a Shrockworks.. so it'll be restored as original.

There is an estimated 4500$CAD worth of damages on the truck :|
