definity dakota AT tires - how bad are they?

I've had my 02 4Runner Sport SR5 for about a year and a half. It's had 265/70/r16s as long as I've had it. I had it aligned a few times. The first was because it was clearly off when I got it. The second time was after a suspension upgrade. My question is, are the tires just that crappy, or is something else the issue? The outside is clearly worse than the inside. I don't know how long they were on the 4Runner before I got them. I've kept tire pressure between 30-35 trying to find a sweet spot. As you can see, nothing even about the wear. Most of the inner tread is totally smooth. Is this just that crappy of a tire?

Never heard of that brand, but you might have some worn out parts (wheel bearings, control arm bushings, TREs, etc) that might be contributing to the wear. Your alignment might still be off too.

If your tires were already worn unevenly when you had it aligned, you might just be SOL. Once tires are badly worn like that they don't really come back.

I have replaced the inner and outer TREs. Have not done control arm bushings yet. I am planning on getting new tires soon as I'm in the Midwest. I don't think those will do well through another winter.

Around here, the Dakotas are the Pepboys house brand, made by Cooper tire to pepboys specs. They have generally earned the reputation of a cheaply made 'budget' tire that isn't much cheaper in price than some of the brand name tires that you can get from Tire Rack.
