On the site it states that the washer fluid container will be exposed, do you have any pictures of how much its exposed?

If I'm not mistaken, the FJ and the 4R have a similar washer bottle reservoir. I've provided a photo of my Fj where the bottle is exposed (I haven't installed my bumper yet).
There's a couple of options to fix this issue; paint it black to blend in or get a washer bottle relocation kit, or make your own. I ended up painting mine black on my Fj but later caved in and purchased a relocation kit from Expedition One.
I'm still trying to decide what I'm going to do on my 4Runner. The relocation kit moves the washer bottle to where the secondary battery goes.
I'd like to see what others are doing for a secondary power source with a washer bottle relocation kit installed?

I don't know if you've seen these but look into shrockworks' dual battery kit with washer reservoire relocation, puts the second battery up front on the passenger side. Kodiak industries also offers a dual battery kit that would work, theirs utilizes two smaller batteries piggybacked in the factory location.

I plan on running dual batteries eventually and have some ideas to this solution. My plans are to run the Sleep Off-road air compressor bracket on the driver side, put the auxiliary battery on the passenger side near the firewall, and then get the Expedition One washer relocation kit. I'm almost content with just leaving the washer in the location that it's in either way.

I know some are content with mounting a batt on the passenger side firewall but I tried this and was not happy with the mounting points. There's another thread on this somewhere but longstory short there was a lot of play and I was concerned that the thin sheetmetal back there would stress fracture over time. Up front has much more material to safely support a battery. I recommend investigating it before spending any money.. At least from my experience. I'm probably going to go with kodiak's setup cause he's local to me and I don't have tremendous power needs. We'll see. Either way I love the Demello bumpers!

I made a diy washer bottle relocate. See my build thread. I have since taken it out and have a version #2 but still need to post it. Total cost was less than $30. Located passenger side firewall.

Just wanted to add to this thread a little.

I've not been the happiest with the new 4.0 roller rocker engine that the 2010-2017 4runner has along with the 2010-2014 FJ has. IMO the older 4.0 engine is much more torque and a much lower RPM. We won't even talk about the lack of the 4.7 or 4.v8 as an option.

I didn't think the engine could get much worse from Toyota till we got out 2015 Tacoma with the 3.5 engine. It makes driving the 4runner feel like a rocket.

It's rare that a customer turns us on to something but we were doing a mild build on a customers new 2016 4runner recently. I took it for a test drive after the 33's were installed and noticed something different right away.

When talking to the customer I asked him if his was a 2016 when he said yes I said they must have done a engine re-tune. He laughed and said no he just added a Sprint booster.

I was so impressed with the difference of this device that I didn't hesitate to order one online. I don't get anything for saying this, as of now we don't even carry them. I paid the same as any one else would for it. I got it and installed it before a long trip to FJ summit. Even with the 4runner loaded down I could feel a difference. Taking off the 4runner has something it's never had, "POWER". when you push the gas pedal it actually goes and shifts like it should. It sounds throatier too but that could just be due to the higher RPM's it shifts at.

It was hard to tell how much difference it did because I was loaded down for the whole trip and at altitude when I got there and unloaded so the gains weren't as noticeable as when I got home closer to sea level and un-loaded. The 4runner is actually nice to drive now, almost fun! This is the closes it's been to the 2005 4.7 I use to have.

Honestly I've been thinking about selling the 2015 in another year and finding a well equipped 2009 with a v8. The 4th gen IMO is just such a good rounded vehicle. But with this new sprint booster I've been pretty happy with the 2015!

Ya, I've drove my mom's FJ with the 4.0 and although not terrible I'm not impressed. I laugh myself silly when everyone spouts out about how it has as much power as the 4.7. Even with 35's and stock gears I can outrun my mom's FJ without even trying, and I can pull my heavy ass trailer comfortably as well.
Now, I do know that you can build the piss out of the older 4.0, not sure of the newer one, and get tons of power, but honestly, it'll never have that V8 grunt.

I was up in your shop about 1.5 mo's ago picking up a slider for my 4runner and saw the old pix on the wall of the V8 4runner build you did. I was actually envious on how sweet/rugged it looks and it's also a v8 like mine. I was talking to one of your associates and told me that you don't have it anymore and you guys upgraded to the 5th gen. I was thinking to myself at the time why would you do a silly thing like that. LOL! Glad you got the booster and able to feel the power again!.

Not having a V8 on the 5th gen and 6th gen is the only reason I haven't upgraded. I'm actually looking for 06-09 V8 4WD 4runner currently unless future 4runner will have the V8.

Ummm. I spoke with a Toyota rep in the know and they are waiting till after the election. Rumor is if a certain candidate is elected that more cafe standards will be handed down. If that happens there is a good chance this will be the last 4runner.

Let us know what you think. I was pretty impressed by it and I'm hard to impress. I'm the one person who will be honest and say a intake just makes a lot of noise and does little for gains as well as a cat back.

Definitely hold off. I run mine on the highest setting (Red) and it feels like a 70 hp increase, its a HUGE difference to me!
