We are going to Turn your mall crawler into a off road baller.


What is this?

Some of the top Toyota specific manufactures and off road industry leaders have gotten together to Pimp your ride. We will take your stock or nearly Stock Toyota FJC, Toyota Tacoma or Toyota 4runner from mild to wild. You heard that right, we are going to build one lucky winners rig into a weekend warrior.


Who can enter?

The rules are simple, you must have a late model Toyota truck or SUV (*see details below) that you are willing to modify. You must also be able to attend the 11th annual Lone star Jamboree May 12th-15th 2016. You must be a resident of the continental United states.


What do I have to do?

To enter this contest you simply need to tell us in a paragraph or two why "you" or your friend deserve to have your rig overhauled. Remember keep the story like a ladies skirt, long enough to cover the subject but short enough to keep interest. The story can be made up or completely true. The vendors will collect all the entries on April 30th and pick a winner. We will announce the winner shortly after we pick one lucky person. Entries can be made on the vendors Facebook pages under the “Toyota make over” thread or on the FJC blue room thread, Tacoma world thread or tr4runner forums. (see links below for Forums)


What are we building your truck with?

-DeMello Off-Road front bumper and sliders,
-Icon suspension kit
-Icon wheels
-Kanati Mud hogs
-Budbuilt skid plates
-Toyota Jamboree free admission and room to stay in along with 100 raffle tickets.


Who will install these parts?

We will have that discussion with the winner once the winner is picked, some of us are actually considering flying out or driving to the winners house and helping him install the parts.


Why are we doing this?

Because we like the idea of making some ones dream truck come true, we also like the stories you guys tell. Your vehicle must be in good working order and free from damage and or other things that would keep you from building your truck. We reserve the right to pick and choose anyone from the list of entries.

Well, I'd like to nominate my buddy Logan, [MENTION=82047]BigBluePile[/MENTION]. I've known him since late 2009 when I picked up my first 4runner, an '87 that my father had just had freshly painted and gave me when I returned from my first deployment. We "met" on another Toyota forum, and then at a meet up for some local guys to go snow wheeling. Met him, his wife, and his two kids. Since him and his wife were both in the military (albeit the Navy) we got along great.

Since that first time meeting up Logan has ALWAYS been willing to help out with our little group's projects. Wrenching, welding, pooling money for a Traeger grill for another friend's new house, everything. He has spent countless hours away from his family in order to help with lifts, engine swaps, part outs, what ever, and never asks for anything in return.

While this sounds like a story of just a good friend, let me put it in perspective.

I mentioned before that him and his wife were both in the Navy. As many veterans know, the deployment cycle takes a serious toll on families, especially those with kids. His family gets hit twice as hard- something I cannot even imagine. Ever since I have known Logan it seems like either him or his wife is ALWAYS deployed. They come back home for a couple months, then the other one goes. The strength that his kids show in these times away from their mom/dad tells me a lot about the way he conducts himself not only around his friends, but also with his family.

This guy is not just a good friend, but he's also an amazing father who has introduced both his son and daughter to the outdoors through offroading instead of introducing them to Angry Birds on the iPad.

Oh, and they just got a new Trail Edition Platinum that he'd love to make the 35 hour drive to the Jamboree in. =D

My grandma is dying and her last wish before passing is to see the vast mountainous wilderness of Washington but her Ford Focus can't make it out there. I can't find a single soul willing to lend me a trail rig to help my grandma with her last wish and my 4Runner is nowhere near trail ready. On top of it all, my porch just fell on her dog and it is through her tears that she is begging me to do this. I'm heartbroken that that on top of being able to help her that I am responsible for the death of her dog, a poor helpless puppy.

At this point I have nothing left to do but give up my college education to pay for the necessary upgrades to give my only living relative her dying wish. Family always comes first! My buddy Frodo is suggesting walking but a unicorn broke both her legs last week when it was delivering lolly pops to my neighbor. Guess it wasn't Santa and his raindeer this time.

It was a dark and cloudy evening as the sun had settled over the great mountain range. A rugged looking statuesque man entered his modern day steed, a Toyota 4Runner, and set off for the other side of the valley In search of his missing dog, trigger. The icon suspension ate up the rough and rugged washboard road and cried for more! As the trail became narrow and technical the DeMello rock rails and Budbuilt skid plates made easy work of the boulders which blocked the trail like a row of sentry guards.

The man grinned as the heavens opened and rained down a wall upon him. The trail was boggy and if not for the Kanati Mud Hogs that man would still be stuck on that hellish trail. The LED light bar on then DeMello bumper pierced the night and in the distance a silhouette of wet and scared dog was seen. Trigger and the man were reunited because of the excellent products mentioned here!

All of this is true..... But in the future..... Soooooooo if I don't win my dog goes missing.... You don't want that on your conscious do you? [MENTION=59079]jdemello[/MENTION]

On a side note, I will tell you that this poor 2016 TEP has had a serious inferiority complex since I brought it home from the dealer. On multiple occasions, in its short 500 mile life, it has repeatedly bowed down to passing Nissan Leafs and I'm fairy sure I caught it peeing, submissively, once when I parked a few spots away from a 1985 Yugo GV in a dark Piggly Wiggly parking lot. Now granted, the Yugo GV is a serious Classic in terms of function an form, I just can't understand this poor 4runners fear but can only imagine it's due to the lack of any real manly mods. At this point the only thing done was to tint the windows to help hide the shame of this poor lackadaisical wannabe minivan and to obviously help shield me from the ridicule from other true crawlers.

Please help before I am forced to hang a pair of chrome truck nutz from the trailer hitch in hopes of boosting its feeble appearance and possibly having the hitch fall off and injure someone following behind me. While truck nutz are cool and all I'm just not sure the plastic bumper will support the extra weight :sadwave::sadwave::help::help:

Help me Obi-wan Demello Icon Kanati Budbuilt... you're my only hope.... The downward spiral towards the dark side, the miserable and soul sapping world of a minivan owner has already begun. But there's still hope! The point of no return has not been reached, and you marvelous masters of metal manufacturing for man's greatest of machines, the Toyota 4Runner (and other models of course) hold the key. By choosing to kit out my stock 2008 4Runner, you achieve several magnificent things.
A) You help justify owning a capable offroad machine because now it's properly protected and equipped on the trail and is almost guaranteed to get me home safely at the end of the day. Big smiles on the wife and kids faces there.
B) I will no longer be faced with the agonizing life choice of either a 7 seater 4wd wagon of happiness (yes, I have the 3rd row too) that I'm not exploiting because it's not suitably modified, or an 8 seater 2wd illusion of family friendliness minivan that will pretend to perform vehicular duties in a more efficient manner. (Hint: I don't want a minivan)
C) You get 7 US states worth of exposure and advertising as I drive in a promotionally suitable fashion to the jamboree all the way from Pennsylvania!!
D) The crew involved in this get their bar tab covered by me on the Saturday night!!

Lastly, I asked my little boy how he felt about an unmodified 4Runner. He could not find the words....

I deserve to have my 4Runner overhauled into an off-road baller. Here is why.

Growing up, I wouldn’t say that I had it easy or had things handed to me. I grew up in a safe, upper income level neighborhood with my family. They had great jobs and we lived in a nice house with plenty of other kids to play with in the neighborhood. When I wanted to ride my bike to the store, I asked my Mom for $5 and she gave it to me. When the Mariner’s switched to a newer version of their hats, she bought me one. When the new Nike’s hit the stores, I got them too. But only one pair. I would go visit family in Southern California for the summers, which was rough. I would go to a day camp in a rough part of the Valley. We would go on field trips to Malibu beach, watch some of the LA Kings practice hockey and get to skate with them after. Once a month or so we would have a field day with prizes of Sega’s to Super Soakers. They didn’t include any games or attachments, which was a bummer. The weekends typically consisted of going to the local theme parks but I mean, how many times can you really go to Disneyland with your annual pass? It gets old after a while.

Now to my teenage years. When I was an older teenager it was time to start driving and my Dad would let me borrow our new Tahoe as needed before I got my own car, but I was responsible to fuel it up, with their credit card. When I got my own car, I had a few bucks saved up and my folks covered the rest, as well as insurance and my cell phone. That was back in the day where texting wasn’t as common and I racked up an $800 bill for going over by 9500 texts for our plan. I didn’t have to pay it but my Dad did bring it up, but what did he want me to do about it? I did have normal vacations and things such as cell phones, video games etc. It was super irritating owning both an Xbox 360 and a Playstation 2 as the TV in my room didn’t have more than one input so I would have to unplug and plug in when swapping between consoles. I couldn’t just go from Halo to Grand Theft Auto without having to get up from my leather chair. We did go on normal family vacations to Hawaii and often to DC and the east coast. On one trip to Hawaii, there was an incident that ruined the entire trip. My Mom pointed out a sea turtle while we were snorkeling on a beautiful day and her hand hit my mouth piece out and I sucked up water. It was gross.

As you can see, I lived a rough and stressed life in my younger years. It’s amazing I didn’t end up on the wrong side of the tracks or in a Community College. Please pick me so I can continue healing.

Its not her fault, shes just not built like the other girls who strut their stuff on the open dirt trails. She tries her hardest but still gets made fun of. So now she has lost hope and embraced the term Mall Crawler. :faint:

I’d like to tell you why I should be selected for the Demello Void My Warranty Contest. I’ve been a little depressed lately as I’ve been unlucky in love. I can’t seem to find someone who appreciates me for who I am, and I think my truck might be to blame. My mostly stock 2007 v8 is pretty mall-crawler, and needs to be a baller! A little about myself. I’ve been staying with my mom in her basement. It’s hard to find a rental that will accept my cats (10 little cuties). I’m a successful day trader so I don’t get out much. I really think that if I could just get to the point where I had a more pimp ride, and perhaps a fresher wardrobe I’d be able to get a date. I’d even be able to spend the money saved via the contest on a few extra litter boxes and some air freshener for mom’s basement so I can show off my trophy wife (easily gained with that pimp new ride). Can you help Demello? Please?
