Matt(Nelsonmd)/Centx:
You guys are absolutely right. The Denso Application list is effed up.
When I run a 1999 Non-Cali auto V6 through Toyodiy, I get Toyota numbers:
Front 8946-539835 Rear 8946-539825.....two different numbers. Then, when I use the part number interchange option on the same Denso website that gave us 234-4162 for both when I fed them the application, the front interchanges to 234-4162 and the rear interchanges to 234-4153. So Denso's application data is effed up and URD clearly follows theirs. This is the first I have heard of this and I've been reading 4Runner boards for quite a few years now.
It's the same for both 2WD and 4WD Non-Cali. Auto V6's. So if you want it right, I guess 234-4153 is the way to go for the rear sensor. I can't guarantee it, but it looks like a good bet. To be more certain, you could run your VIN through a Toyota dealer (on-line like toyotapartsales.com or B&M) and see if you get the same 8946-539825. I apologize for any skepticism I projected, but I wanted to be sure we had the problem well understood.
Matt, please post up any reply from Denso. They should fix this. So should Gadget.
