Looking to cure my slow starting in my ~ 160k 2.7 manual, I'd like to order a Denso fuel pump as I guess these are OEM quality, does anyone know the Denso part number??
The Denso aftermarket site doesn't have HiLux/Surf. If it were a 4Runner with those specs, it would be Denso p/n : 951-0001. If you want the strainer, too, it would be 950-0100.
For the 1996 3RZ-FE 4wd manual JDM HiLux Surf, I get a Toyota p/n of 23221-46010. I get the same 23221-46010 for the North America 4Runner 1996 Manual 4wd.
So I guess that's it. The Denso site won't cross that Toyota p/n though. That is not uncommon. Sometimes the cross works and the application doesn't and vice-versa.
For the record, my 1999 3.4L V6 5spd uses the same Denso and Toyota p/n's.
Will be ordering a Denso 951-0001 soon. Part number is identical between the Hilux Surf and the 4Runner
The Hilux Surf is in most ways identical to the 4Runner 2.7, but with a few differences that I have noticed so far:
-no EGR system (yay!)
-one exygen sensor. Instead we get a EGT sensor in the cat which lights an idiot light on the dash.
-swing out rear wheel carrier mostly fitted, but not always (I'm converting mine to both for carrying 2x spares)
-Most have flared arches and running boards as standard (took my running boards off as I don't like them)
-right hand drive, km/h odometer
-cloth trim
-My (super rare) 2.7 manual has a straight shifter and push-button 2-4WD switching which I think was only used on the 3.4 V6 manual 4Runner?? AFAIK there was no M/T 3.4 Hilux Surf (booo).
