So this happened today. As if I didn't have enough issues with the tailgate I guess someone bumped/whacked my car and dented in the parking garage. Paintless dent guys weren't able to do anything. Glue wouldn't stick and while they tried to get a tool up thru the hole behind the striker it just just ended up getting caught on internal body parts. They said drilling a hole was the only way to get in and I won't do that. Any suggestions? Can you get to this area from inside behind the trim panels or am I stuck with it?

I tried a hair dryer and the cold spray from an inverted duster bottle on a shallow dent once on a Honda. Didn't help but I suppose it can't hurt to try.

The boiling water and dry ice are more of an an extreme temp difference or you can use a hear gun as well

Kinda what I was afraid of. I know it wouldn't change it but I wish I knew WTF caused it. This poor truck has been a damage magnet it seems.

dropping my comprehensive deductible to $50 cost me less than $3/month extra, living downtown and parking on the street i've used it for multiple door dings and scratches and have even had the front of my BMW painted for road rash. if you're a damage magnet you should price out how much it costs to drop your deductible.

This. The metal is probably stretched, like a BB shot. Even if they drilled to get behind it it would probably still have a wrinkly look to it.
you could cheaply sand the area down, put some filler and then have it painted.
Hell of a spot to get a dent.
Haha. No not quite that talented. I guess I didn't explain the pics very well. It's just one dent on the left side of the vehicle. One pic is outside looking at it and the other is what greets me in the mirror.
No paint chipped or scratches. A small mark and the dent. It was something smooth whatever it was.

I'd go by a paintless dent removal shop and inquire....
I took it to the best dent place I know of in Vegas. They tried and weren't able to get the paint to stick. Then then tried removing the striker and going in thru the hole there, but that didn't work. Tool just got caught inside the body and took a bit to get out. They said the only shot they'd have would be to drill a hole in the door jam and go in. Don't want a hole drilled. So I dunno. I'm looking at selling it and getting something I don't freak out about.
I'm a bit OCD about door dings as well as my car. I've had holes drill several times for dings and I'd do it again in a minute for a ding like that.
They put a plug with some silicone where the drill and you only see it when you open the door.
That's the only chance you have at fixing that.
