Wheeler Lake is a "summer" trail, lol as it goes up to 12K feet, once it snows up there, it snows, lol

I was thinking of doing that instead of slaughter house on sunday, but if theres a lot of snow up there we coulod try to do wheeler like the first weekend of march

March is going to be to early, its not going to be doable this weekend, you "might" make it to the mill, lmao...

I am going to on Sat with ric's crew. for sure...I can't wait any longer. I (we) may also come on Sun, but I will have to see how things go. Pretty good possibilty though, I can't think of anything better to do!! Ha!
 
so slaughter house is dry. I went up there to check it out today and since I was up there I went ahead and did the trail by myself and I didnt have a single problem. In the areas that did have snow, it got up to a 1/2" at the most. Again I DID IT BY MYSELF today. If everyones still up for it this is going to be an awesome trip. Here's a pic from my phone of what the trail looks like. The snow off in the distance isnt part of the trail.

Nice job scouting the trail Matt (you just couldn't wait till sun. either, ha). Your gonna make it hard for me to back out on Sun! ha! Even if some snow falls, it will be fresh and probably not so bad.
 

I'm probably in for one of the days. I know I have to pick some friends up from the airport either saturday or sunday so one of the day's I'm definitely going. I'll let you know what day it is for sure.

Wow,Slaughterhouse is dry which it hardly is this time of the year ansd look like it might be fun and get some different pics with the snow around but I've got to work tonite and might do it later this month if some of us don't make it today.

Sorry man, I couldn't make the 10am this morning. If it makes you feel better I couldn't find anyone to go in the afternoon, so I went up by myself also. I was heading up 285 towards slaughterhouse, in hopes I would meet up with you, but I forgot the directions. I ended up around guanella pass instead.

Im sorry man. what time did you get up there? I was heading back at around 1:30. I did the same thing, I slept though my alarm clock and didnt even wake up till 10 so I went up there and drove around trying to find someone cause i figured someone must have been at the conoco and then just left without me, but no one was up there. That guy shootmymime is gonna be up here next sunday and he wanted to meet up with some people so we could probably try agian. have you seen my top 5 favorite places in CO thread? The place that I put as my number 1, ric wants to take a trip there this summer and I posted a reply about it for you. so if you havent seen it yet, go check it out.
BTW did you go up on sat.? How was it?
 
I really want t to start going out, hectic weekend, did some wrenching on Saturday to get all of things on the back of mind about my 4runner out of the way and today my bro was leaving for DC for a few months so I hung out with him, if anybody wants to go tomorrow, I have the day off.
