Does your 4Runner have a lean to the passenger side? Mine does after the lift, and it has KDSS. I heard it was a common problem, and lifting it makes the lean worse. I just wanna hear your experience.

lol....yeah, I kind of screwed up; I didn't download the more interesting files in time (like the bear, of course) and so the dash cam over wrote them with the new files. Then the Marcus 4 stopped recording because it said it had "no enough space"....really, that is what it said instead of "not enough space"...lol.

Anyway, I had to delete the remaining files on the 64GB SIM card and now it's recording again. It sort of confuses me because I thought the Marcus 4 would record continuously over any old files and so not sure how I have "no enough space"...lol.

Also, for the life of me, I cannot get the downloaded Registrator Viewer to upload any of the files I did save. I also need to figure out how to edit the files down to something reasonable and then host somewhere online. I have not tried posting my own videos so this all new to me. :smashputer:

You can create your own Youtube channel for free. That's where I am uploading my GoPro footage. Photobucket will also host video, but I am not sure if they have a size limit. I understand the editing fears. I am taking baby steps with that myself. I still haven't added any soundtracks to mine, but I have figured out how to edit them down to 2 or 3 minutes instead of the 17.5 minutes my GoPro defaults at before it starts a new one. Part of my problem and you may run into this also, is that some internet providers really choke down your upload speeds vs downloading. A 17 minute video took me literally 20 hours to upload a few months ago. The same video might have taken 15 minutes to download. Good luck with the process. It seems to be more intimidating than it actually is. Maybe you could find another forum for your camera?

make sure you format the sd card while its in the marcus and not on a computer. they are picky about that sometimes. my old TF2+ would only 1/2 the time work when it was formatted on the computer.

and about once a month reformat it inside the marcus to "refresh" the sd card file system (this is iffy as I've heard it helps/doesn't help).

Yes, mine did too. I had my shop adjust the passenger side coilover with a tad more lift than the driver side to level it out and then had it realigned. Now it looks better and drives great.

Thanks! Yes, that is what I was finding out as it was going to take an hour to download each segment. I tried using my Photobucket account too but it was even worse. But I figured out that I need to edit the size of the files down to something reasonable (if not for better viewing experience too as most of the video is pretty boring...lol). Thanks for the links!

Interesting; when you say "reformat", are you referring to deleting the existing files or going through the setup process again once back in the unit?

That might have been my mistake as I only deleted the files once the sd card was connected to the computer; once while the dash cam was connected directly to the computer, and once with using the sd card reader.

I had something similar happen except this idiot decide to run the light while needing to do a U-turn; he floored it to beat the light but ended doing an almost 360 in front of me in his stupid "ricer" sounding car. I pushed the "emergency record" in case he ended up hitting someone in his rush to get out of there. Funny thing is I ended up right behind him at the next light and I could tell he was not liking the grin on my face...lol.

I got a top plate spacer that will give me half an inch of lift, planning on putting it on the passenger front. You think that will be enough to get rid of the lean?

I am not sure since I don't know how your truck is sitting; when I measured mine, I actually had about 7/8" differential between the driver and passenger side. I had the passenger side coilover adjusted another 5/8" up from the installed setting (I had more room to adjust but did not want to go further and risk the ride quality) so there is still about an 1/4" lean but you don't notice it at all.

But I would think that adding the 1/2" spacer is about as much as you'd want to go without severely risking your ride quality and component wear.

Okay, I finally attempted a video download from my dash cam. Because I am one of the most unintuitive individuals when it comes to current IT and media tools and methods, I am sure I did it the hard way (I am from the generation where I leaned how do to logarithms with a slide rule and draft my designs by hand with ink on Mylar...lol); I had to download the original files from the dash cam to my computer, upload the file into Windows Movie Maker, covert it into an mp4 video for the computer, then upload it to YouTube so I can embed it here.

The video content is pretty boring but short as I just wanted to see how I could start capturing video from the dash cam. I also need to figure out why the quality isn't the same as the raw video when played directly from the dash cam.

Anyway, my first video production ever. My apologies for the hokey music but I liked it....lol:

the reason the quality is so bad is because your doing a double conversion. upload it directly to youtube since youtube will do its own conversion.

converting it to mp4 then having youtube do its own conversion is killing it.

here is a video I uploaded directly to youtube, you will notice some degrade in youtube's conversion process.

the only way you can get raw video is if you upload to dropbox and link directly to the file.

D-Dawg, did you have problems with your rear sway bar links? and or Track bar?
I just put some fox 2.5 coils in the front and 2.0 rear. It lifted the truck 3" in the front and 2" rear. The front seemed to be good but the sway-bar links/track bar in the rear seemed a bit tight.

New to T4R.ORG and to Toyota as well, but after recently purchasing a used 2004 4Runner for my kid and having fun upgrading it, I got the bug.

My recent build: our newly purchased 2004 4Runner Sport 2WD. I added a Toytec 3-inch lift, BFG AT LT275/70R17, MB Chaos 6 17x8.5 with -6mm OS, Rola Roof Rack, KC Driving Lights, AVS Bug Deflector, AVS Window Visors, PIAA Windshield Wipers, and Hobbit "Shire Life" window sticker...lol. He loves it and is working to pay his share and has to take good care of it, but Dad had to have his fun too..lol:



Just sold my 2013 F150 FX4 EcoBoost with a decent build on it including a Fox/Icon suspension and host of other goodies, but then I made the mistake of going to the Toyota dealership and test driving the newest 4Runners.

I have been driving a number of 4x4 Fords and other full sized rigs for quite some time, and have had some Jeeps and Land Rovers too, so not new to being off road. My last build:



But after driving the new 4Runner, I was so impressed I bought a Trail Edition...lol. I thought I wanted the Limited but I couldn't fit it in with the sunroof, and despite the controversial front end, I actually preferred it over the others (love the hood scoop too). I love how this thing drives; quiet, maneuverable, and much more refined and useable than my past Jeeps, yet still very capable off road!

And the best thing; easy to mod...lol!

So first things first, thanks to everyone on this forum for sharing your ideas and builds as it has been a tremendous resource (and just fun spending endless hours searching and looking at pics...lol). Here is my starting point: 2014 4Runner Trail with KDSS, Enture/Nav/Backup Cam, and so on.
