I'm loving what you did with your truck. I just got a 2015 TEP and want to start messing with it already. How is desert rat? Could you share ballpark of what they cost for your lift, wheels, and tires?

Desert Rat has been great. I was just telling another forum member in a PM that I have been dealing with them for over 20 years. The manager of the store here in Albuquerque has been working on my various vehicles even longer than that when he was working for different off-road shops before Desert Rat. We have become good friends over the years so I always try to give them my business.

They are not always the cheapest since they can have set pricing agreements with a lot of their vendors/suppliers, so you can usually find slightly better pricing online or directly with the suppliers. For a lot of the mods that I know I want to do myself, I will shop around for sure.


But for mods and/or shop work I need help on, Desert Rat has always provided quality and worry free workmanship and stand behind everything they do so I am good for paying a bit of a premium where it counts.

Ballpark costs, I think I have about just under 9.5g's for everything including the roof rack and lighting among the list of minor/major mods, shop work, and accessories.

Wow, congrats! Your 4runner is pretty awesome but I'm looking forward to where your new build will go. Thinking of picking up a tundra or tacoma as well, but just adding it to the stable. Hey, at least you can actually get a supercharger for your tundra.

That is a great truck, my wife drives the same. Far from a work/beater truck, more of a luxurious/amazing/truck, but awesome all the same.

Thanks Ron...I am pretty excited about the Tundra. I was also looking forward to potentially putting a TRD supercharger on it too but unfortunately mine has the flex fuel engine; I guess that won't actually prevent one from being installed but I wanted the factory warranty with it.

Yeah, I want to lift it and add bigger tires too...lol. But I was considering the Ram Power Wagon with the 6.4L Hemi or a 2014 Raptor with 6.2L, so I am mentally prepared anyway.

Ain't that the truth...lol. I have to tell you though, I am loving the power delivery and the sound of the TRD dual exhaust with the big V8 puts a smile on my face every time I step on it. :biggrin2:
