I am runnung Cooper STT PRO LT295/60R20 MTs which are 34.3-inches tall x 11.7-inches wide mounted on 20x9 TIS Wheels with +18MM Offset.
The tires are doing great much like the Cooper ST MAXX I was running on my 4Runner and only a tad louder. They also handle very well despite their more aggressive MT bias and have done well in wet and off-road driving, but really curious to see if they live up to Cooper's rating for same snow/ice performance as the MAXX.

Nice, My buddy just bought a 2014 Tundra TRD off road edition. I am trying to get him to beef it up. I thin he wants to keep the TRD off road rims on it though. I don't think they are wide enough for those tires...

Desert Dawg, awesome build this 4Runner. I am waiting my 2016 silver... In the meantime, I am preparing my build. I would like to know your feelings about your D2 lights and after your LED bar. Based on your experience, if you had to choose the D2 OR the bar, which one would you go for? I am not planing a rack at the beginning, but probably later. I have a really good opportunity for D2 at almost half the price, so I am hesitating to go this way, or wait for a LED bar later.

Are you on a Tundra Forum? If so which one, I was considering a Silverado until I saw your build...

Thanks John...I would opt for the D2s for now since you have a deal on them and want to wait for the rack and LED light bar anyway. They push out a lot of light for their size!

Yeah, I am on a couple of them but honestly none of them have the same degree of engagement as the T4R.org forum...lol; having said that however, my favorite Tundra site is TUNDRAtalk.net.

I considered the new Silverado [High Country] too, along with the GMC All Terrain, Ram Laramie, and finally back to the F150 Platinum too. All great trucks with pros and cons, but the Tundra just appealed to me the most along with being the best value in the trim levels I was looking at.

It is indeed, I was really sold on the Silverado until I saw this. I went and checked out a 1794 edition when I picked up our van from service. Pretty nice and ton of leg room in the back on the crew cab. I'm not sure I want to spend that much on a truck though.
I won't be looking for another year as I want to pay off my bike 1st. I really miss having a bed as I used to have an F-150, but I don't really miss trying to park it. Extra enclosed space in 4Runner is nice too, can't have it all I guess.

Thanks EEE...I do miss the enclosed space of the 4Runner which is why I spent the extra money on the retractable bed cover and bed mat; I can securely store both gear and very large items or use the truck for weekend hauling and such. I was like you in that I really missed the room and versatility of a full sized truck. But I do miss the 4Runner especially when running around town or hitting some tight trails...I am giving my Tundra lots of pinstriping...lol.
I just need to get me another used 4Runner or FJ and then I have best of both!

Do you carry any recovery gear with you? or did you end up running on board air? I know you mentioned avoiding the tool box but they make one from truck covers with a mini tool box the perfect size for a recovery strap, shackles, and some tools. Or from a security perspective, better to just tuck some bins under the canister for an as needed basis so it's one less thing thieves could look to break into?

Yeah, I carry a Gorilla winch recovery gear with heavy duty strap and shackles, gloves, and other gear at all times secured under the rails in the bed. When I know I am going off-road, I also secure my Viair Compressor in the bed under the canister too. I also have a heavy duty Harley Davidson gear bag full of all sorts of tools, folding shovel, hatchet, and other stuff that lays flat under the cover canister.
In cab, my fire extinguisher fits perfectly in the driver door molded compartment with my Emergency Kit (BTW...my T4R.org secret Santa just sent me a really cool Trauma Kit too...lol). In the rear aftermarket storage compartment and under the rear seats, I keep all my load straps, emergency water and some dry food, matches, misc. clothing, blanket, and other sorted gear for emergencies.

I forgot you put that underseat tool box in. I think I may just go with some totes or gear bags under the canister along with my viair and avoid the tool box as well. I've heard far to often about tool boxes being broken into, and what they can't see they're less likely to steal. The underseat is a no go for me since I'm putting a custom dog bed across the floor for my two pointers to make it a cleaner look and not cover the underseat storage trays in the back of the cab. I should be able to tuck everything up nicely under the canister and if I'm really feeling crafty I may make a built in cubby underneath the canister for organizations and lack of movement.

Took out the Toyota family trucks for a Christmas run - my current Tundra, my kid's 4th Gen 4Runner, and my brother's FJ (but missing my old 5th Gen 4Runner...lol);
It was a blast but got too cold and started to snow hard so we had to call it quits fast and get back to town.
