Destination ATs vs. Toyo Open Country ATs vs Revo 2

Hey everyone, looking for some tire advice here. I’m looking for a tire that does well in both wet and dry conditions as well as snow and ice (we don’t get a lot of either but it does happen). I’m looking at either the Destination AT (can get installed for about $660) or the Toyo Open Country AT (installed for $720). I’ve had the Toyos before and liked them but never really got into snow or ice. The tires will be used primarily on the pavement with some light offroad stuff. Would going with the Revo2 be worth the extra money? Any suggestions?

You have 3 excellent choices IMHO. You can't go wrong.

What I know:
Revo's: Tough to beat as all-rounder. Awesome in the rain (and I mean awesome!). Good in the snow, quiet, balance easily and hold balance really well, OK tread life. Some sizes of Revo 1's wore quickly and got loud as they aged (consider that if someone is 'bad-mouthing' the Revo's). These would be my first choice.

Toyo A/T's are phenomenal for the price but you'll want new ones at 45-53k. They balance well (and stay balanced), they are reasonably quiet, ride nice and generally stick well down to the last few 32nd's of tread. Overall they're a great, under-rated, close cousin to the beloved Nitto Terra-Grappler.

Firestone: I have no recent first-hand experience. I must admit I am blown away with how strong and consistent the Destination A/T supporters are. They guys who post about them here love them!

All 3 of these are in my final list as well. Price varies from about $1100 for the Destinations to $1300 for the Toyos or Revos. But I'm buying 5 as the spare needs to be replaced as well. Also thinking about the Mickey Thompsons, but I don't have a price on those yet.

Where in Sac are you getting those prices? Might be worth the drive up there.

I realize you're getting five of the tires but those prices seem awfully steep to me. I've found the PMetric version of the Toyo for $120 (P265/70/17) plus $80 for delivery (for four) and Firestone will install four Destinations for $650.

It is either going to be the PMet version of the Toyos or the Destinations. I just don't know yet. I think I'll wait to see if Firestone comes out with some sick Labor Day sale.

Went to the Firestone dealer in Modesto today and they were about 1100 out the door for the Destination ATs. Maybe its an odd tire size I was looking at? 265/70/17 w/ 50K warranty...

Toyos were at Les Schwab and were $$$.

Ether ... take a look online. Using a Modesto zip code, I checked Firestone's web site (firestonecompleteautocare.com ... lame web address) and there is an internet special for the 265/70/17 Destination ATs (same thing I'm looking for) where you can get five tires installed for $870.

After looking everything over, I think I'm going to go with the Destinations myself. It's too good of a price and I've had good luck with Firestone services.
