Destination x/t - size: Lt275/70r17

it looks like on paper this is the best of both worlds ?

I'm stuck between doin the 285s nittos ridge grapplers i saw that they come in
passenger at only 49lb but its not the same tread depth its 13.5/32 instead of the 16.4 - however the LT size is 58lb which is huge difference 9lb a corner however you are not getting the aggressive tread which makes me wonder whats the point if you not getting the best part out of the tire ?


then i was thinking about 275s K02s in but they are 55lb so i may as well just do the nittos at that point

and then i found those firestones says they are only 48l in size 275 but same tread as nittos (well almost ) its 16/32

anoyne used these tires ? opinions welcome

While doing my research, I looked heavily at the XT's. I have had the Firestone Destination AT's on a few other trucks and SUV's and have been really happy with them. I would have gone with them, however I decided to go with the SL rated Falken Wilderness AT3s. If the XT's were SL rated, I would have gone with those. I just took the 275 KO2s off. I'll never buy another set of KO2s. They lasted a long time, but the traction was horrible in rain after 35k.

I have about 1000 miles on my Destination X/T in 275/70 17 and so far very happy with them.

I came from 275/70 17 KO2 and and the 7lb per tire weight difference is noticeable. 4Runner is almost spirited, almost.
And even though the X/T is an E rated tire too, not as stiff as and doesn't wander on the highway like my KO2s did from day one.

The most noticeable change is actual wet traction. With my KO2s, I dreaded every time it rained or the road was wet.
These X/Ts have been rock solid in the rain and wet roads here in Fla. Have yet to spin them or slide during acceleration, cornering or braking.

Around 40mph, they have a noticeable hum, especially on smooth asphalt. I have a dog, so around town my windows are usually open which is how I hear them. With the windows up and radio on low volume, you don't hear them. Highway speeds they're quiet. Just did a 3 hour interstate trip and they were fine.

No offense but those tires are really ugly.
