I know you all arent as in to paint detailing as most but i wanted to share.
Finally was able to detail my friend Matt's truck. Was a lot harder than i originally thought because apparently his side of town has acid water and caused ridiculous amounts of etching.
I first started with Adam's car shampoo and a few oz's of APC with it to wash and strip everything since i was going to be polishing.
Before
It wasn't too bad but it was pretty dirty still and felt like Velcro as i ran my hand across the paint. I had to be a little careful while i washed the tires because the red labels and i have read they're insanely touchy and easily ruined and i wanted no part of that. I ended up just using the brush around the letters and the tread because Matt likes to go off road a lot so the tires were pretty dirty.
I went to clay the paint and found he has some serious etching around the rear panels and i wasn't able to correct those. I tried but they just didn't come off and it felt like a dirt spot on the paint when i would run the clay over.
Foaming
After using Swirl & Haze Remove, i went to the Fine Machine Polish and got really good results. Here is the paint after that process after some Quick Sealant, Brilliant Glaze and Americana wax.

I really liked that the glaze brightened and brought out the metallic causing the paint to look really deep.
These are terrible finished shots because the shadows but none the less, all i took.
This was the first time I've used Americana and i really liked it. Smelled good, applied extremely easy and i barely used any of it to do the whole truck. The only thing i can say, which could be because its insanely hot out already (97*) that it was a little tough to remove. I got it all off but i was a little tired at the end of it. I Quick Sealed all the glass, paint and plastics. I was impressed with how everything turned out. Hope you guys enjoy.
