Hi all, let me introduce myself. My name is Brian and I have OCD when it comes to a car's finish. 
There is always someone at my house using my random orbital and I enjoy detailing cars, and teaching them how to do it.
I used to be a detail forum moderator on a BMW forum years ago when I owned a new bimmer (Bimmerfest) and tested all types of waxes, products etc. for the next 5 years after. many products were free and I would do reviews of these products.
Today, since my joints are getting old, I prefer a synthetic wax to the carnuba for longevity. It's my opinion that carnuba based wax show more light reflectivity but requires more frequent application, thus the reason I prefer the middle road, synthetic.
THAT said...I finished the 4Runner the week-end before last, but it's hard to see the luster on a white paint job, therefore, I present to you my wife's little V6 2005 Mustang which we've owned for 6 years, and has 100k on the odo.
I am a big proponent of Griot's Garage products, albeit they are on the expensive side. Richard (The owner, who've I have met more than once since his HQ is 10 miles from where I live) uses these products for his various collection cars including a vintage ferrari.
I do not use Griot's Carnuba wax anymore, but it was some of the best.
Today I use Klasse AIO (Developed for Marine applications years ago) and the glaze.
So, after a full detail including leather cleaned (Griots), interior detail spray (Griot's), clay bar(Meguirs), Griot's polish with random orbital, Klasse AIO and Klasse glaze, Ragg Topp cleaner and finish for the soft top.
New plugs, air filter, oil change. Turned 6 years old on Saturday when I did the full detail. Should last her another 100k.
