Diagnose Grinding Sound when Turning

Sounds like maybe tire is hitting the wheel well or the body mount?

What kind of setup do you have? suspension, bl, bmc, tires and etc.

Good guess, but I don't think so. I've had my setup for a while and have been using it on and offroad with nothing like this happening. I remember the sound of tires rubbing my body mount back before I got it chopped and it's nothing like this clacking. I have ~3" in the front with coilovers, UCA, front bumper, bmc, 285/75/17s, 0 offset wheels. Thinking it's CV axles given what I'm reading about problems with non-OEM ones offroad, especially when articulated. It's definitely taken some abuse on the trails.

Taking it in to the local shop next Tuesday.

Resurrected.

Getting a loud grinding noise when making a slow rolling sharp right turn that sounds like it's coming from the drivers side front tire area. No noises when making a left turn.

Thought it might be the steering stops, so I greased those up, but still getting the noise. Thinking it might be the wheel bearings.

Any input or advice as to what it could be would be appreciated?

Jack up the front end and with hands at 12 and 6, see if there is any movement in the wheels.

If so, probably the bearing(s). I had this on my drivers front that was progressively getting louder over the last couple of months (338000 kms on the truck so definitely time to change) Ordered two new complete assemblies for about $400 CAD and just replaced both this past weekend.

Very straightforward job. Driver's side took about 2.5 hours, making sure I was not forgetting any steps. Passenger took about an hour.

Some will same to get new bearings and get them pressed in but that seemed too much of a hassle, considering that the assemblies are plug and play.

My bad....I didn't see the video before I responded...no, not a bearing issue. CV...I will see myself out.

Just wanted to update the community.

Good news. That terrible noise was not coming from the front nor the cv axles, but the rear of the vehicle. Turns out a carriage bolt on my fuel skid was backwards and making contact with the drive shaft when flexed.

PSA for those with RCI fuel skids: make sure your carriage bolts are installed the right way.

Grinding sound coming from the front end when turning is most likely a bent brake dust shield. When you turn under load, the rotor leans just enough to rub, but not when rolling straight. Crawl under there and bend it away from the rotor. And that will fix it.

But since its coming from the drive shaft at the rear of the truck, you can disregard the above.
