Diagnosing help please

Hey guys, my truck has been giving me some issues lately and I need some help pinpointing exactly what parts I need to buy and replace. Thanks for the help!

Issue 1
I have a V6 5 spd manual and when I press the clutch pedal to change gears, the pedal will stay depressed. Ive narrowed it down to either the master cylinder or the slave cylinder, but Im not familiar with either. Any ideas?

Issue 2
When Ive got the steering wheel fully locked to either side, the truck makes a loud screeching sound. Also, sometimes on colder mornings it will be very hard to turn the steering wheel, almost as if theres no power steering. It eventually goes away, though. Im thinking its the power steering pump, but I dont want to buy one if I dont need it. That part is expensive as ****.

Issue 3
When the car is idling, it makes constant squeaking/chirping sound. I was planning on changing all the drive belts (A/C, alternator, Power steering). Do you think that will stop the annoying sounds?

-probably needs some adjustment.

ill PM you w my phone #. give me a shout anytime this evening or this week.

-once it stops, dont put any additional pressure on the steering. most vehicles will make that noise if you are cranking on the steering wheel after it hits full lock

-whens the last time you had timing belt, wp, and all the other belts/bearings done? mine squeaked like a maniac (mostly after any wheeling where water was able to get up in the engine compartment). i had all my new belts and bearings done, sound is gone.[/QUOTE]

I havent done the belts in a while, but every drive belt and timing belt will be changed this weekend. What bearings are you referring to?

And youre saying that the clutch pedal only needs adjustment? What do I adjust exactly? Sorry for the noob questions, btw

1. Im assuming its a hydraulic clutch. Sounds like youve got some air in the system or the fluids picked up too much water. hydraulic fluid is hygroscopic (not to be confused with hydroscopic) and absorbs water. It can do so right through rubber, metal, and plastic. Thats the reason why its recommended to swap all of your brake fluid and clutch line fluid every 2 years. Im going to assume that neither has been done, ever. Go ahead and do both.

2. Again, seams like the fluid is old/dirty/thick. Probably never been changed. Use a syringe to empty it out and put in new fluid.

3. Could be a belt, idler pulley, or one of the accessories (alternator, power steering pump, ac pump, ect). Pop the hood and take a look. you said your changing them anyways? give everything a spin by hand and see if its rough or makes any noise.

Problems 2 & 3 are likely going to be solved by the same action, sounds like either belts or the PS pump (you might get away with changing the pulley/bearing, not sure if it can be replaced on the pump).

Problem 1 sounds like the same thing that happened to me on a previous car, it was the slave cylinder in that case. Not honestly sure how you'd properly diagnose that one, is there clutch fluid leaking from the master or the tranny (not sure where the slave is on these)?

Thanks, I'll get all those changed out asap.

Nope, no fluid leaking any where. I just checked the clutch master and its still full. Im going to change out the slave cylinder anyways.

1- sounds like a bad slave cylinder.

2-I'll bet on it being a bad rack. What you're experiencing is referred to as "morning sickness.".

3-sounds like drive belts. Buy some belt conditioner, spray them down with it. If it goes away, you know it's the belts. Not a biggie.
