Hey all,
OK. Here's the situation. Within the past few weeks I replaced the rear coil springs and shocks on my 03. (Non-XREAS if it matters.)
I've noticed that anytime I'm in an "articulation situation" such as pulling into my driveway, I hear a little "voop" noise from the driver's side rear. I haven't been able to replicate the noise manually.
This is what I plan to do. Maybe there's something I'm missing or have a bad idea somewhere in here:
Remove and reinstall both coil springs. Apply thin layer of grease where spring meets the axle perch to keep rust away, and make sure it's seated properly. (Maybe the end of the spring is hitting the little stop and that's the voop noise.)
Remove each shock and extend/contract by hand a few times and see if that is making the noise.
When reinstalling, put a little grease on the bushings and make sure they are torqued down properly.
Just for the hell of it, make sure the spare tire is snug and not jostling around, but that's unlikely.
Any other ideas I've missed?
