Did 4th's ever come with backup camera?

Guys.. done a decent amount of searching and the manual seems to suggest there was a backup camera possible as an option. Am I right there?

If so.. anyone know of a post or look into upgrading the stock cd radio to the backup camera one?

It was a part of the factory navigation system.

Also there was a PIO option, Part Number: 00016-00040 for the type integrated into the rearview mirror.

My 4runner did not come with a factory backup camera, but I have an after market installed. It is mounted on the back of the lift gate and works very well when reversing. Also works pretty good as a rear display while towing my boat, and regular driving.

no you have to wire it yourself if it didn't come from the factory but it is not that hard, I bet there is a write up on here or I could take some pics and so you can see exactly where to run the wire and what needs to be done.

I think AllData would probably tell me as well.

Doubt I'll end up doing it. If there was a super low cost, sure. However the wife keeps talking about getting rid of it. With it being hers.. it's probably not going to be around much past summer.

Meanwhile.. my 2000 Regal turned 231K and going strong as ever..lol :car:
