Did all Limited come with a V6?

Did all 3rd get Limiteds come with a V6?

Just wondering if the V6 was standard in the Limiteds of this generation.

Yep. Base and SR5 models were the only 3rd generations to have the 4 cylinder, which was discontinued after 2000

I am quite certain that all SR5 also came with the V6. That is definitely the case for 99 and 00 models, perhaps in 96-98 models you could get a 2.7 SR5, but I have never seen one. Many 4 cylinder 4Runners came equipped just like an SR5, but being a 2.7 they are still base models. I had a 2000 2.7 base model, but it had every SR5 option plus some that are not standard on SR5 models, but it was still a base model.

In Canada, we had 3 models. Base (which was just called SR5), SR5 V6 and Limited V6. I believe 1999 was the last year we were able to get the SR5. After that, they only had SR5 V6 and Limited V6. In 2002 though, they released a Badlands edition though which was the 'base' model. Also, you couldn't get a 2WD 3rd gen in Canada.

Yeah thats what I meant. You could get a SR5 4 cylinder up until 1999 right?

I don't believe that in America you could, I am not going to weigh in definitively as perhaps someone still has an older brochure and can check. If you go to the Edmunds site and put in a year from 96-98 it still shows the 3 styles, base, SR5 and Limited. If you choose base the engine defaults to the 2.7, if you choose SR5 there is no option to say it has the 2.7, not saying Edmunds is always right, but it agrees with what I think so I'm going with it.

I've personally seen a few 4cyl limited models up there. I almost picked up a 97 limited 4cyl for a steal but it was sold before I got a chance to leave a deposit. I've only seen 2 of them though. both were 97's. Must be extremely rare.
