Did I steal this 02 SR5 4x4

Ended up walking out of the dealer with the truck for $10,000. Its a 2002 SR5 4x4 with 51,000 miles. It has a clean carfax with one owner out of AZ. Wasn't crazy about the color, but its grown on me since.

No, it's not just you. Those are pre-99 rims too. Could we get a pic of the front (headlights and grill are also clues to model year)?

Are you 100% sure it is a 2002? A check of the VIN will confirm.

If it is indeed a 2002, I would seriously question why the older tailights and rims.

Wheels are def. still pre '99. You should have the 5 spoke.

Those 3-spokes are the optional wheels on the non-sport ed. SR5's. They are correct for the year 2000.

Those tails ran through the 2000 model year. The multi-reflector type rear combination lights which have been adopted to express innovation and high quality, were implemented in 2001.

That looks like my 4Runner the day I bought it from the dealership back in Dec 01. I think thats like the base model of the 4Runner because I had those same rims on my car. Also he has the black tire fenders around the car like my does. So that should be the base model 2002 4Runner.

No, they were indeed available in 2000. Most had the optional color coordinated larger flares, and all the Highlanders did, but they were still available in 00 on SR5's only. You can even see someone else with them on my Friends page

The only visual way from the outside to tell if it is really a 2000 rather than a 1999 is to look at the side view mirrors. They were redesigned to be more aerodynamic in 00. Everything else was the same.

Ahh,I thought the chrome/rubber strip became the base fender trim in '00 since the available mudflaps that match the flare are only list as a '99 part but my bad.

He corrected himself and it's a '00 anyway but you could get chrome bumpers on the '02s.
