Did I steal this 02 SR5 4x4

Thanks for all of the info.....I was close to buying a 2002 SR5 with 67,000 miles, but then this one hit the market and I couldn't help but to crave over the 51,000 miles, even though it was 2 years older. The first pictures were what it looked like when I first got, and this is what its looking like the other day.....Off with the running boards and up the mountain. So much for it looking all detailed.....

Mileage vs the price makes it a very good deal especially on an '00. I bought my '99 in '04 for $13k w/96k on the odo.

The only visual way from the outside to tell if it is really a 2000 rather than a 1999 is to look at the side view mirrors. They were redesigned to be more aerodynamic in 00. Everything else was the same.

You are literally a wealth of 4Runner information. I use your site frequently to figure things out about my 4Runner and am happy you are on this site to help give out correct information. There were so many changes to the 4Runner throughout the model years that it pretty hard to keep track of them.

Thanks for the feedback. I simply try to archive all the info I can onto my site. It has indeed come in handy for many and hopefully in 2018 when someone is looking to purchase a 10 yr old 2008 and they forget about the minute changes, they can look at the site and recall them. :biggrin2:

Nice. That's a good buy. Good thing you didn't opt for the 02. The VSC/TRAC system is kind of an annoyance. So does yours have a rear locker?

That's what my truck looks like right now. Can't remember when I washed it last. :p I'll probably do a wash & wax before the winter season, though.
 
I own a 2000 SR5 (Highlander) and have the same tail lights. As someone stated above, the VIN is truly the way to determine what model you are now the proud owner of. All of the other parts and pieces can be added or removed pretty easily. Post some pix once you've been off road!
 
I just picked up this 2000 SR5 with 75,075 miles for $9,000. I thought it was a good deal, but I would have paid 1000.00 more for almost 25k less miles.

my 2000 has the same wheels too. And i think thats a pretty good deal but make me realize i really stole mine. I bought my 2000 SR5 4x4 with 45k on it for $6500
