Just a quick note. I changed out my TB and WP this weekend. This was my 1st time doing it, but the trucks 2nd. Has 220k on the clock, last one was done @115k according to Toyota (previous owner bought it certified used). Took us about 10 hours over 2 days (lots of breaks). Overall it wasn't too bad. I wouldn't want to do it again, but it wouldn't dissuade me from buying another v8 that is in need of one if I can use it as a bargaining chip to get the price down by a grand or two.
I'd classify myself as generally handy guy who does most of his own work, but I am by no means a mechanic or an expert. The actual belt and WP were easy, its getting all the other stuff off that is the PITA. We just took our time, and labeled bolts/nuts as they came out and sorted into baggies.
No real special tools were required, just an assortment of sockets and box wrenches. Mostly size 10mm-17mm. Deep well, stubby, breaker bar. All came in handy. No real trickey parts. Bumped the starter to break free the crank bolt. The most annoying part was getting the damn radiator, shroud and fan out.

I also changed out the spark plugs, upper and lower radiator hoses, and thermostat.

That is all. Just thought I'd pass it along in case there is anyone who is in a similar boat. I probably could have done it alone, but having a second set of hands/eyes definitely came in handy. If you are on the fence about doing it yourself I would definitely consider doing it. Assuming you have the time and tools it isn't that bad.
