We recently picket up a 95 4Runner Limited in beautiful shape. Years ago I owned 2 87's and loved them. Sure to wish I could have found one with a manual transmission as this one likes gas, a lot. Checked my first fill up and got just over 15 MPG. After filling up I added a can and a half of Seafoam as well as a can of their Trans Tune to the transmission.
The previous owner said he ran Castrol GTX which I think is fine but usually like full synthetic oils in my vehicles and motorcycles. The oil was changed just before I got it so unless I hear negative about synthetic use I will probably go that route.
I will have more posts with questions and hope to be able to be of some help but I am not very mechanically inclined. I do have a check engine light that comes on then goes off but now staying on longer. Will hopefully get it diagnosed at an auto parts store later but have a feeling it may have something to do with the gas cap as it creates quite a bit of vacuum making it very difficult to remove???
Thanks in advance for any help I may get. Need to start another thread about headlights.
