Did XenonDepot get bought out?

I'm so glad that I found this thread. I was just about to pull the trigger on a set of HIDs. I guess I'll watch this thread for a bit and see if the company gets it together.

To our T4R family, its been a long month!

Delayed shipments. Delayed e-mail responses. Long holds on the phone.

This is not the Xenon Depot you guys know.

Our transition from Canada to the US caused a handful of service disruptions that have affected our customers, and we 100% own up to the fallout. We know we’ve let a lot of you down throughout the month of January…but January is over.

Our customer service team is back up and running full time. We’ll be quick to pick up and respond.

Our warehouse is processing orders in real time. Orders should be moving without delay.

Many of you have had questions, concerns and doubts about what’s going on. Xenon Depot has indeed joined The Retrofit Source in Atlanta. We as a group are as committed to our customers as ever, we will maintain the same products that you’ve grown to love, and will be releasing a handful of exciting new XD exclusive products together this year. Beyond that, the business is still owned and operated by car enthusiasts just like you…Just in the US now.

If any of you guys have been personally affected by the move, shoot us a PM about the situation, we'll hit you back and do whatever we can to make it right.

Thank you guys for your patience and support this month.

Team XD :canada:

We are here for you guys, from the US, from Canada, from North America, its 6:30am EST on Monday and if anybody on the forums needs us - we're on it!

XenonDepot issues?

I send them a message twice already with no response. I heard they were bought out by an MN-based company called Headlight Revolution. I always heard Xenon's customer service was absolutely phenomenal. Therefore, I'm a bit surprised I haven't heard anything from them in a little over a month. Is this new company that bought them out have a lackluster rep?

Moving to the US would be a good thing for US customers - I had to return something and it was $42 in shipping on top of their “restocking fee” - I won’t buy anything from them again due to possibility of $42 shipping if I would need to return something.

They came back on here for a day made a couple posts and its been silent since. No matter what it will not be what it use to when it comes to customer service from them. XenonDepot any insight?

The shipping time, customer service and lack of communication after the buyout convinced me to never order from them again.

They never even made mention on their website during the "transition" that there could be delays. They only replied days after I emailed them that they were moving warehouses. Never mentioned they were no longer the same company.

They are still riding the old name without actually letting people know that it is a different company. I do not trust them.

to the OP- we're responding to all PM's and emails within 24-48 hours, which is at least on par with old ownerships response time. How did you reach out?

We're responding to all threads and PM's here on the forum when we're tagged or in a post that we're subscribed to as well.

We apologize if anybody got the wrong impression, but no matter the management or location of XD - we are just as committed to taking care of our customers as ever.

Hmm well... you always want to give the benefit of the doubt as it is a transition but we will see...

I couldn't recommend them enough before the buyout. Now idk. Has anyone had dealings with the retrofit source customer service? That might be some indication of what's to be expected.

I was thinking about converting back to halogen with a H9 conversion after something fails on my 5200k philips kit. The cost and ability to replace on the fly (bulbs are in stores everywhere) being my reasoning. Don't get me wrong the HID's are ****ing fantastic but not exactly necessary, expensive, and have several failure points compared to OEM.

Link to the TRS google reviews page, not too shabby!

We are human, we made a few mistakes and let a few things slip through the cracks during the transition, no question.

But things are back up and running normally now. If you reach out, there should be no problem getting a timely response...whether its a product recommendation or problem with an existing order, we're here!

Mutant - maybe try going with LED. HID stuff definitely provides the most actual light output, but there is indeed a lot of wiring and more failure points. LED is vastly more simple, still a great upgrade over halogen, and provides the intensity intensity, white light that everybody wants.

Just something to add here. I've purchased a few things from The Retrofit Source and have have nothing but very good customer service. I even got a discount on something to test for and report back since it was a new year model and they weren't positive of the fitment. Good people.

I also use Automotive Lighting & Accessories: HID Kits | LEDs | Audio/Video for all of my 4runners stuff. Nothing but awesome things to say about thier products and even better customer service. Some of the best I've experienced!!!
