Didn't plan on getting a new 4runner but things happen.

My 1999 4runner in Natural White (4cyl 2WD with 190K) was totaled by a hit and run driver on March 25th parked in front of my house at night.(doubt you want to see a picture of that)

So I went to shop for a used one. I was amazed how much used they were in the mileage range i wanted. Used vs New was only a few grand more...

I ended up with a 2021 4runner TRD Off Road in Classic Silver Metallic and KDSS.. with 33 miles on it. Those predator bars will be off soon...not sure what will replace them.

Picked it up last Friday... :lookout:

Same experience I had, used was not too much less than new. This is the first new vehicle I have owned since 2003.

Sucks that you lost your 3rd Gen 4Runner but glad you weren't in the vehicle! A nice upgrade while staying within the Toyota family.

Wasnt really looking for anything other than a 4runner so it was an easy choice... I loved my 3rd Gen still sad shes gone.

SAME exact thing happened to me in July 2017, drunk driver totaled my rig in front of my folks' house. I was so fortunate enough to have the resources to buy it back from insurance and get the appropriate repairs made to it in order for me to daily it again. Ultimately I hope your experience of being a 4Runner owner will be forever changed for the better with your new rig!

Things do happen indeed. I have a 2016 Odyssey that I planned to drive for a lot longer but I'm about to fall out of warranty and transmission is already acting up (only 47k miles). Kinda wanna jump ship to a Toyota a few years ahead of schedule

I hear you. After getting a 4Runner, there are only a few vehicles I'd get if/when I have to replace it. And they are all Toyota/Lexus. The 4Runner is a fantastic vehicle for long-term ownership.

Sorry to hear about your 99 getting totaled. I never would have thought that could be done by a hit and run, yikes.
