They also had the diesel in the Carribbean, here's a link to Lospri's TD 4Runner from the Dominican Rep, winner of 4ROTM last year: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?threadid=10972<br%20/>JP4RNR said:I recall seeing the 4th generation 4Runner a couple of years ago in one of the European countries and it had a 6 cylinder Diesel but it was not called a 4Runner I forget now what it was called.

Hell yeah! Bring that diesel over here and I would be the first one to buy! I prefer diesel SUV a lot more over gasoline powered weak tq SUV.

Would you care to share what your fuel consumption is with your diesel engine and what the larger, more powerful one might do if it is ever introduced over here?
Offroader said:My diesel 4Runner gives around 30mpg on highway at 60mpg, but the more modern D-4D direct injection engine is supposed to have 20% better fuel efficiency.

Do you reside in the U.S? If so, Do you find it a little more challenging to drive a RHD vehicle in the U.S? Imagine left hand turns are difficult as you don't have as good visibility to see oncoming traffic from the right hand side of the vehicle in a left hand turn lane

What are you talking about??? The average US consumer cares about fuel economy to the point that there has been a major paradigm shift in the US auto market making fuel economy a top priority.Offroader said:That's why they don't offer Diesel in the U.S., because the point is getting more miles per gallon, and the average American consumer doesn't care much about fuel economy.

Besides, just because performance mods are added to a vehicle, doesn't mean that it will get worse gas mileage. I still get the same fuel economy I did the day I bought my 4Runner
