Would you buy/trade-in your current 4Runner for a diesel-powered 4Runner, if Toyota makes one available?

(Converting to diesel definitely means replacing the engine with a Toyota diesel engine and other things.)

Diesel Power

I`ll stick with gas, however, if Toyota came out with a powerplant similar to that of the VW Toureg than I might be persuaded otherwise. The diesel fuel in North America isn`t nearly as refined as European diesel, thus the North American Toureg might be slightly de-tuned. Some of the newer diesels are creating some significant power numbers. I drove a new Chev Silverado with the Isuzu diesel and it was pretty quick. Add some minor bolt ons and it is really quick! Just my 2 cents worth.

diesel engines have come such a long ways in the last few years. diesel engines are AWESOME now! tons more power, they are quieter now, the burn cleaner now, MUCH better gas mileage!! man, i can't WAIT till toyota makes a vehicle here in the states with a diesel in it! SCREW GASOLINE!!!!

My wife has a TDI VW Beetle. It is a great engine. I would not hesitate to buy a diesel 4R if it came out.
