Diff bearing? CV popped out

Had an emergency where my cv popped out of the diff while driving. Upon inspection, what looks kinda like a bearing (a race?) was destroyed and pieces of metal could easily be removed. It allows the fat part of the CV to roll. I put a new CV in and works fine but I have a leak.
What is the part called? Easy to replace?

The CV is locked in with the C-clip retainer and the bearing is just to facilitate smooth rolling. Probably your 1st CV was not pushed in all the way.
You will need the roller bearing and OEM oil seal (don't use any after market oil seals)

Yeah, I had hastily changed the ball joint on that side recently. I'm sure I didn't get it in all that good.

How does the roller bearing come out?

You don't have to pull the CV out to get the ball joint done. Probably it was not fixed right from the beginning.
I think you can pull the bearing out by having a L-shape tool. It should slide out with less effort. I haven't done this but I would try that way.

I know you don't have to...it just kinda happened. The CV came apart when I was getting the ball joint off so I used another CV to replace it.
