diff between 06v8-08v8?

i've been trying to do comparisons between 07 under and 08 up v8's .. i don't want this to turn into a v8 v6 debate, but mainly yr models 05+ with the v8 .. im looking into purchasing 06 v8 limited and have the chance to get the 08 v8 limited same miles same price.. after doing some looking i noticed the mpg ratings differ by atleast 2mpg city?..06 limited was 16/19mpg, 08 limited 14/17mpg was there a power increase for the 08 models? if im not mistaken its the exact same engine and engine specs appear the same..

im pretty sure they are the same engine and as for the milage difference thats weird because from what i remember they are the same. They added VVT in 05 but the 06 and 08 milage should be the same and it doesn't matter because in the city you will be getting the same milage on a v8 no matter what year

I think it has to do more with changes in how they tested for MPG rather than anything else.

I believe the EPA started using a different formula that would more accurately reflect real world numbers.

thanks for the input .. i didnt realize they used diff formulas starting from 08+.. makes alot of sense why the ratings are diff for same model same engine..

2006 and 2008 models are identical mechanically. There are a few minor interior tweaks to the 08 like updated nav software, different autodimming mirror, and stuff like that.
