Diff breather and water condensation

Looking to install the ARB diff breather kit on a 2018 T4R

Can water condensation be created inside the tubes and trickle in the differential oil ? Since I understand this mod will greate an open vent ?

Did anybody think about this ?

never had a problem. End of the ARB breather has some kind of circular porous filter. Even if there was condensation in the tubes, the heat of the diff and the volume of the oil in the diff will probably keep the water as vapor anyways and that will want to escape at operating temperature.

When i initially installed it, i had it mounted in the rear cargo jack space, but i have since moved it to the engine bay. I figure the amount of hose and the heat of the engine bay will keep water from entering.

I've had my arb diff breather kit since 2016.

I am not planning to cross any deep waters, just seems like this mod is useful, and pretty cheap.

I checked my diff breather and it's usually always stuck with dirt and dust. I'm thinking this mod might be a good investment.

yes, this is a good insurance policy. Even if you don't cross rivers, you are more likely to encounter flooded streets and parking lots and intersections.

Some mechanism is required to relieve pressure from the otherwise sealed unit. I think essentially all differentials have a breather from the factory. So, I wouldn't be concerned about condensation build in the tube. There is a ton of open volume (about half) of the differential with air that could condensate anyways. Breathers typically have a one way valve that only allows fluid/air to exit, not enter. However with enough pressure, like deep fording, water may push past the valve.
